A lot of Hazard back to Chelsea on loan crap flying around atm.
The sad part is he’d still be our best attacking player. As much as I love the guy, we need to move on from him.

I don't think Haaland will struggle anywhere.

He's basically Lukaku+.

He's consistent, strong, quick, brilliant in terms of sucking defenders out of positions and an excellent finisher, but technically he's pretty limited, and like Lukaku he doesn't appear to contribute much in terms of defence or build-up play.

His goal tally would probably mask it somewhat, but I don't think we'd get the best out of him, nor would he get the best out of Chelsea. You'd need a #10 behind him to feed him killer balls, but at our best we play a fluid style with a false 9. With Haaland on the pitch, we become more predictable and so while he'd clean up against the lesser sides, we'd struggle against the best PL sides because he'd be too isolated a lot of the time.

while strikers turn to sh*t at chelsea, ours usually end up injured all the time. just see haaland's sharp uptake since being linked

A common trend with Chelsea is to go for the big-money purchase that is either on the wane (Sheva, Torres), doesn't suit the side due to a stylistic clash (Torres, Lukaku), or has temperamental/confidence issues (Morata, Torres, Lukaku).

Drogba and Costa were successful because both contributed a lot in defence, didn't struggle under pressure and suited our rough-and-tumble, counterattacking sides. Drogba also had surprisingly good ball control, and Costa's was good enough.

Werner has not contributed what we had hoped, but he's not a complete flop because he throws himself around and is very dangerous on the counterattack, which means that the opposition are less inclined to attack us or play a high line when he's on the pitch. In turn, that gives Kai the space to act as a false 9 - part playmaker, part scorer - which he needs because he's not all that strong or quick so you can't rely on him to bully defenders or beat them with pace.

Funnily enough, we've had more success with strikers who weren't bought for big money and weren't expected to contribute all that handsomely (Eto'o/Remy/Abraham). Maybe the relative lack of pressure has something to do with it.

You weren't one of the few. ;)

It wasn't a comparison between the two, more an example of someone commonly thought as the final piece of the puzzle not really fitting.

No transfer is a guarantee of success.
If City buy Haaland and he doesnt score a bajillion goals, I'll quit BF and never return.

I mean cmon...

So the day City buys Haaland, you will quit BF? He will score a lot of goals but not “bajillion” of them.

Talk Mbappe asked by PSG to name his price for a new contract. Still refuses to sign. Qatar apparently desperate for him to be a PSG player when the WC is on in November.
😂

Yeah, I can really see Real Madrid buying Mbappe and then loaning him back to PSG until January.

Buffon is going to live forever.

Damn. Goalkeepers usually play longer than outfield players but how many are still playing at a top level with a contract that will take them to 46 years old?

They're in the second division.

They're in the second division.

Yes, I am aware of that. It’s still a top level because promotion means Serie A. He’s 44 and playing in a division equivalent to the Championship. Not bad.

It's not equivalent to the Championship lol.

Do I seriously need to explain to you that Serie B and the Championship are both the division below Serie A and the Premier League

Do I need to explain to you that doesn't make them the same quality?

I didn’t say “quality”, I said equivalent.

Thought that was implied by the idea he's playing in the equivalent of the Championship. Yes it's not a terrible division, but for a keeper of his quality I don't think it's that beyond him to play that long. Good effort regardless.
