Sounds like Gvardiol is our Rudiger replacement target. Similar sort style, aggressive defending and passing.

Going to be a whole new back 3 for us.
Are you able to do transfers yet, or just waiting for the OK from the government?

We cant sign off on anything until the sale is official, but we're getting deals lined up. Sounds like we'll be very busy this window.

Kounde sounds done and just waiting to be announced now.

Stevie G flashing the cash.....

Hope they aren't running before they walk. Kamara is meant to be on 175k a week too. Getting an awfully big wage bill..

That's really only a problem if they end up relegated though right? (Presuming this isn't going to send them bust...which surely they'd have checked that before signing off).

Send them bust?

They have one of the richest owners in the league that will cover any losses, like they all do, Chelsea the perfect example.

Sawiris is comparably wealthy to Abrahmovic, he owns a ton of different companies including like 6% of Adidas. Then the other owner is Wes Edens, who owns the Bucks and was one of the owners of BlackRock investing....

Well that's the if. I get a bit nervous when you see clubs making these big moves when they've only been in the league 3-4 years. I remember when Stoke were bringing in players on huge wages and everyone thought they were cementing themselves as PL mainstays. Thankfully they have a massive company in b365 underwriting their losses but look at the debt on their books as a Championship club. Villa themselves were in a similar position when they went down 5-6 years ago.

Entirely fair enough.

How would you feel about us making the bigger moves? Been in the league longer, had European taste etc.

You're a different story, as are a lot of clubs in that sort of bracket, as you've been developing over time. I just wonder what happens if a few of these players flop for Villa or they pick up a few key injuries. They really only pulled out of the relegation scrap relatively late in the season (even though they were never in 'real' danger, they got a few results that meant they were fine). Just feels like over-confidence, but who knows, they could finish top 6 next season and this isn't an issue.

Everton the perfect example of this.

Think it makes sense for him to accept a new 200k/week deal with realistic buyout clauses.
That doesn't make a whole lot of sense for West Ham though.

That keeps him around on more than what he's currently on and they'd only get 'realistic' transfer money for him.

May as well sell him off now.
