Anyone trying to buy him before the summer will struggle unless Leipzig are locked in for champions league places imo. There will be a lot of competition as you say.

Matt Law is usually spot on regarding Chelsea. Surely that medical took place a few months ago with Chelsea looking to buy him then. He'll have to do another medical with Chelsea if they sign him next summer or even in January. If Matt Law is right it may be that Chelsea are doing enhanced due diligence on players on their transfer wishlist but that would be a new thing in football as far as I know to go to that extent.

I did propose in the United thread a few months ago for United to do a deal with Liepzig and give them the £54M or whatever his release clause is now and loan him back to Liepzig for the season. Maybe Chelsea have done a variation of this already.

It's a very good start and he is obviously a wonderful player. I never stated that he isn't. So do you think it was really necessary to dig up my original post on the matter and rub it in my face like a smartarse? My comment was hardly inflammatory, nor was it a comment that was not open to a change of opinion at some point. Also, please quote anything where I said he "only scores in farmers leagues." I am pretty sure I have never made that comment (and will own it if I did). I may have stated (not sure but possibly) that he played in an inferior league. What part of that is incorrect? Every other league IS an inferior league.

I am not sure what you are actually trying to achieve here. My opinion, just so you are crystal clear is that a player needs more than a handful of games in this league to overtake the guy who has arguably been the best striker in this league for the past 7-8 years. Haaland may very well be that guy but I sure as hell am not calling it after 6 games against mid-lower table opposition.
