I know he used to play for Arsenal, but I wonder if Spurs would be in for Emi Martinez in the summer.
Would be an upgrade on Lloris at least.

It's more an FFP thing I would say.

Wonder if those sorts of deals will become the norm. I guess the issue is what do you do if he is a flop? Now earning 200k / week for the best part of 7 years means getting rid of him will be difficult unless he is transferred for a low fee.

Presume there'd be performance triggers somehow.

Wide players can easily be converted to strikers, happens all the time. He'll be fine playing at CF if needed.
Im more thinking that next season Zyiech, Pulisic and probably CHO wont be around at Chelsea so we did need at least 1(probs 2) wingers.

Chelsea forwards for next season (assuming Lukaku loan return:

Lukaku
Havertz
Aubameyang
Nkunku
Ziyech
Fofana
Sterling
Broja
Pulisic
Mudryk

How much can you expect to recoup if Lukaku, Havertz, Aubamyeang & Ziyech leave as expected? If Felix stays on also that would surely see Pulisic gone.

I forgot to add CHO to that list lol

Lukaku will be back at Inter again next season on loan, thats already been organised. Broja will be out of action until next January and you would think he'll get a 6 months loan somewhere to find his feet again. Fofana who knows yet, lets see how he goes the rest of the season.

We'll move on Pulisic, Zyiech and PEA(probably CHO as well). Not sure we'll give up on Havertz just, he's happy at Chelsea so no harm in rolling the dice on him another season.

I'm keen to keep Felix and with Nkunku gives us some great depth creatively as the SS/AM types. Mount as well

Sterling, Mudryk and hopefully Madueke as our wingers, happy with that.

CF is where it's still murky though. Leaves us having to keep playing a false 9 like Havertz. Maybe thats what we'll do and rotate through there with AM/winger types.

Think you need to give Inter & Lukaku an ultimatum and say either you buy him or no more loans, even if it means getting only 30-40m for him. Not good to keep loaning out a depreciating asset.

I imagine Boehly will want some reasonable money back on Pulisic / Ziyech. PEA is worth nothing effectively, better off terminating his contract.

I wonder as well if some of these contracts have like out clauses in them too for both club and player

Yep could have a reasonably low buy-out clause for instance if he doesn't perform to a certain level.

Yeah who knows mate, we'll just have to wait and see.

there will be quite an exodus, i think on comms in the first half they said chelsea now have 30+ senior players? jorginho, t silva and kante notably out of contract, doubt zakaria gets picked up. but wow, 6 guys picked up in one season all north of 35 mil+ it will be interesting to see how much they can get back the other way. previously rated guys like ampadu and hudson-odoi coming back, probably get a decent fee for lukaku but there will have to be some tough calls on players i'd imagine

Yeah, just had a quick look at wiki and the prem site and we have 32 atm. Surprisingly United have a couple more and you guys I think are only about 20(thats pretty small TBH).

Us and United will both be looking to turnover a heap come summer.

One is not like the others.

You are seriously overrating Madueke.

He's a mid table/lower PL type signing at the moment.

Gakpo, Sinisterra and Antony were all immeasurably better wingers than him in the same league.

He's only 20, sure, but you are buying him because he's 20 and English, he's really not any better than CHO really.

The appeal to me is hes a left footed right-winger. Something we lack and tbh theres not a heap available atm.
