Highest wage bill would make things nice … a lot higher than Arsenal I’d imagine. You got lucky with Haaland fee and being able to pay his top salary
It would make things nice. Do we have the highest wage bill? Pretty sure I read something the other day that we were 3rd or 4th in England in the last set of figures.

He said the other day youve tried to sign him 2 or 3 times already

Does trying to sign someone automatically = “tapping up?”

The Athletic reported the first time was during his stint at City, he’d recommended signing Jorginho to Pep. Chelsea however offered Napoli more and they missed on that transaction. Secondly, Arsenal enquired in 2020, Chelsea said not for sale which is fair enough (he was at his peak then). Arsenal signed Partey instead.

You should read the article mate.

Fair enough, i just assumed it was the same sort thing as Brighton and Shakhtar peeps were complaining about

Would love Sancho back with a loan + buy option

Not a chance! United still have a lot of faith in him. The reason he hasn't been playing is because he's been struggling with his mental health and the club have been taking the long term approach in trying to support him through it. He played his first game since October this morning though so hopefully he can get back to his best soon.

Name a more iconic duo, I’ll wait.

benfica have officially confirmed it as 121 mil euros. eye watering for someone who has spent half a season playing in europe
That’s the way of the modern game these days. I’m surprised Neymar’s transfer fee has lasted this long.

Yeah, the story of Chelsea players being tapped up by Arsenal is kinda not believable. It's usually the other way around with Chelsea pushing their wood out to join Arsenal. They seem happy to get some money for Jorginho rather than nothing and with their 453 new signings probably encouraged this sale as much as Arsenal were by looking for a stop gap midfield solution.

Did they? Thought Chelsea just offered them more money and better wages.

Well given they indicated they felt disrespected by how Arsenal went about it I'd say yes, they weren't happy with how they had acted.

They put it in print that a formal complaint was an option but one they didn't ultimately do.

City have spent €700.91 million and sold €443.30 million worth of flops. No one is about to applaud City’s fan Twitter account for the club being able to sell four players for €49 million and above each. No other club can say they have done that.

The funnies thing is in 2017/18 they spent 226m net. Conveniently left out of their figures......

According to the stuff Shakhtah released in that interview they weren't impressed with how Arsenal went about their business.
Wages and fee were similar, but our add ons were obtainable.
Like winning the champions league

It’s kind of like United spending £97 million to buy AWB and Fred and the supporters turning around and giving themselves a pat on the back because a couple of clubs are stupid enough to buy AWB and Fred for £112 million this summer.

We did agree to pay in instalments
I know that and that is still ridiculous for a release clause.

But come on even as a Chelsea fan you don’t see anything wrong with negotiating 20 mil over 6 years lol.

Why would anyone want to pay it in a lump sum?

Is it 4 payments of €30m over the next 3 or 4 years?

I wonder how many flops Chelsea have signed this time? Only time will tell 🤔
That's basically the argument in favour of their behaviour. If they sign a dozen players, and end up with 3-4 really top class or world class players, it'll be worth it.
