That's basically the argument in favour of their behaviour. If they sign a dozen players, and end up with 3-4 really top class or world class players, it'll be worth it.

I think we have to wait and see with us, we are going to be selling/turning over a huge portion of our current squad. It'll be a fire sale in the summer.

The whole club is getting rebuilt from the top to the bottom and they've only just got started.

Potter's going to be under huge pressure next season with all this backing, interesting to see if he thrives in that scenario. He'll be gone by mid season next season if he's not delivering big results.

Well yeah, it's Chelsea so the expectations should be high.

While this season has been a write off between the sale, transition, injuries etc theres no excuses next season. I don't think he needs big results but we would need to be on the upward curve.

Do you think Potter has had any input in the transfers or Chelsea have just gone out and spent a s**t load of money and said here work this out or you’re off

Yeah, he works with Winstanley and Vivell on the targets. He also is talking directly to the footballers selling his vision. It's a committee, something Tuchel didn't want to work with.

Its not Boehly just throwing cash around like a few think around here haha.

I wonder how many flops Chelsea have signed this time? Only time will tell 🤔
Indeed! We’ll see how many are flogged on to The Arsenal in five years time ;)

Are you worried Boehly will put 120m for Kane in the summer window with 12 months left on his contract on the table?

Levy would be all over that.
Unlikely with Boehly it would more likely be 220m

Levy would kidnap him and store him on Lewis’ yacht before selling to those bastards lol

Levy is a businessman at heart. I reckon he would find it incredibly difficult to refuse a 120m deal if Kane hasn't extended his contract by the summer window.

The funnies thing is in 2017/18 they spent 226m net. Conveniently left out of their figures......
Just to clarify, is this me being obsessed again? Bit confused.

It’s kind of like United spending £97 million to buy AWB and Fred and the supporters turning around and giving themselves a pat on the back because a couple of clubs are stupid enough to buy AWB and Fred for £112 million this summer.
The great thing, after a decade of people obsessing about the net spend w***ers league is that people are finally seeing it for what it is.

A very nuanced, pretty much worthless stat that can mean everything, but nothing.

When we were being criticised for topping the net spend league, I can't recall too many people saying "yeah but wages", "yeah but player sales", "yeah but agent fees", "yeah but previous spending".

So its great that people are finally seeing the light. I feel in a small way I've played a part in that.

You missed a PMSL there

I had to look up the figures first to see how much we did actually spend in 17/18, I don't have the encyclopedic knowledge of Man City finances that others do.

Then I was going to PMSL. I think Zidane98 may have mixed up his pounds and euros.

What a great window that was for us. Set ourselves up for half a decade of success.
