Hang on, not having 'big club' exit clauses is materially different to 'none of the players have exit clauses'. If you've been hanging your hat on that then you really need to go to Specsavers because your incomprehension of what the written word says is startling.

Everything he said would to the normal person say MacAllister doesn't have such a clause.
MacAllister didn't need any clause because we weren't going to deny him talking to other clubs.
