We should be chasing that too.

I'd imagine wages would be an issue. I doubt Sterling would be looking to leave City for less than what he's on (has been reported as high as £300k a/w).

Since Arsenal are looking to bring in anywhere up to 5 players this window, the cost of Sterling (fee of £45m + at least another £15m in wages) would significantly hamper any other deals.

With Saka likely joining Liverpool or City next summer, Sterling would make complete sense.

Saka will stay.

Crazy Liverpool are still getting Coutinho money.

The entire system is a joke.

Should be like most asset classes around the world. When you sell it, all debts have to be cleared from it prior to confirmation of sale.

How many different clubs would owe money on a single player, like Morata for instance?

Some of those have been onsold so they would be getting money back in for them. Emerson for example

Not if they've used the transfer revenue to pay down other debts (or continued to buy players) where they sold said player for less than they bought.

Coutinho as an example.

Surprised Torres isn't on that list. I've heard they still owe us most of the fee.

But what a cluster**** the Bartomeu administration was.

it looks a bit outdated. no way they paid upfront for ferran torres. all the guys who took paycuts could still reasonably claim wages back. i wouldnt be surprised either if those guys brought in on frees didnt get all their signing on fees.
