Think he chose Barca months ago. All that's changed is that it appears his 2nd choice is no longer Arsenal.
Doubt he's signed imminently. Barca are the domino everyone is waiting to fall and it's all their financial issues.

Affects Raphinha, FDJ and Dembele at a bare minimum.

Yeah, Barca thought they were gonna get him cheap and did all the romancing early. Then Dembele looked like he wanted to stay so Chelsea put an offer in. We're still being mentioned as in it but that's likely barter, don't think we can pay that (definitely not up front) and there's be no point bidding unless you had a positive reaction from the player. The job now is stitching up Martinez.

If Deco keeps pushing this out with Barca though you'd have to wonder how long Chelsea will want to be left hanging.

Barca are just being dicks and causing havoc for everyone else agreeing terms with Kounde, Azpi, Alonso, Lewa, Raph etc and not having the funds to do the transfers.

He might not get into our starting best 11 either with Kane, Son and Kulu. But he will be the best bench option we have had for a long time and someone we can use to rotate with in a condensed season. 5 subs as well will mean managers can go to their bench earlier
