Another one, sad to see go but looking forward to seeing him push on.

Been a great squad member for us, and has made some really important contributions to our success.

Sounds like a great deal for Forest and Lingard. One year is perfect.

As long as the sign on fee wasn't crazy. Getting him in for say a 3m sign on and 115k a week is a better approach than some other promoted sides have had spending 8-10m and 50k on wages on 2-3 completely unproven players to fill 1 role.

I heard we offered him 130K a week and Forest offered him more, so I wouldn't believe he's just on 115k a week....

That said, it's a couple for Forest for sure, think he'll have the same effect as Eriksen did for Brentford.

Still need to agree personal terms with Scamacca but shouldn't be an issue.

Hopefully we goes better than Haller did but whether our style would suit him or not will be the thing.

Tuchel not sanctioning Azpi to Barca is fantastic. Brokealona don't value him highly according to Tuchel.
I think hes also pissed about them trying to unsettle the Kounde deal.

But I'm sure Azpi will go if we can sign a RWB backup for James.

Some of those bonuses will be achieved as they'll be attached to appearances. I just think without a transfer fee 10m going straight to JLingz himself isn't as bad as some deals clubs get themselves caught up in. Spending almost that on a transfer fee then 6m on wages on a 5 year deal on an unknown type. Sure they can resell to recoup some loss but we know Lingard can be a decent PL player, that's not something you can say about any of their current squad yet

Why is Lingard getting so much stick in the media for going to Forest? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t really see that much difference between Forest and West Ham, so of course money will be one of the deciding factors.

Yes he’s more likely to be in a relegation battle but that’s probably more exciting than finishing mid table, and he’s going to be part of an historic season for a massive club being back in the Prem after so long.

Would like to think we're better than mid table considering we're in Europe back to back seasons and made the semi's of the europa's.

I think unfortunately the money is the main motivation here. At least he didn't go to Saudi Arabia I suppose.

Wouldn't he be getting the same sort of wage at Hammers?

From what I read from ex on Twitter we offered him 130k a week which is just more than Zouma gets. Lingard told Moyes he was going to sign and then Forest offered him 50k a week more.

The 115k a week figure I think has been just put out in the media by Forest to make it appear they're not blowing their wage structure for him.

It wasn't a one year deal with you guys though. Security or lack of in this deal means the 50k a week extra helps protect him for next season when he is a 30 year old free agent.

The more I think about it the smarter it is. Squad player at West Ham and he is no chance of a world cup spot. Talisman for Forrest for half a season and he probably gets in. Earns more this season and has freedom to move wherever he likes post WC in January 2023. Rather than potentially be just a squad player at West Ham for 2 years

He would have started for us I'm fairly sure as a #10, Vlasic wasn't good and at his best he's better than Lanzini.

Either way I think West Ham fans are just hoping Moyes doesn't goes back in for him next off-season, time to move on really.

Haha I think there's a little bit of difference between the two clubs. West Ham won't just be mid-table, they'll be pushing for Europe.

Lingard scored 9 goals in 16 games while on loan to the Hammers. In a full season he might score 15 or more. He would also be playing European football with Hammers a decent chance of going deep into the Europa Conference League.

Forest are one of the relegation favourites. They will probably score between 35 and 45 goals with Lingard maybe getting 4 to 8. He's an athletic player but I wonder whether he has the motivation to do the hard yards for a struggling team.

He has clearly gone for the money option and has dispensed with any notion of playing at the WC.
