Harsh and unfair. Have to have 8 home grown players for European competitions.
Two of our 11 that pushed us into the UCL next campaign bizarrely don't qualify.

Englishman Eric Dier because his underage football was in Portugal. Making him HG to Portuguese clubs.
Yet Ben Davies who played his football in the English system also isn't because UEFA say Swansea belongs to the Welsh FA...

12 months ago Kane wanted out due to a lack of club ambition, and fans, pundits alike said fair enough for the most part. Now there's a world class manager in who demands standards lift, isn't afraid to call out the board - both privately and in the media - and the result is our first cash injection under ENIC and shifting out stale deadwood that's been holding the place back for a while. Some of those are English players. Dele is gone, Winks soon to join him.

So what should we do? We need to get 4 club trained and 4 association trained players for UEFA. That'll mean that contrary to his best interests Tanganga will stay as backup when a loan probably would be better for him than being 3rd choice RWB and 5th choice CB and rarely playing.

Not like we can make our CB purchase English. Most English CB's are beneath the standard Conte will demand and the one's that are in the bog average category end up going for big money. Like the 80m United pissed up the wall. City plonked Ake on the bench to barely use him.

We're taking a 34yo Englishman whose England career is behind him for the League and FA Cups so that key purchases can be the best available, not necessarily the best Englishman.

Look like signing Djed Spence btw where he'll get to discover European and EPL football, and like Sessegnon learn valuable skills from someone like Perisic.

Just like City, Arsenal, Chelsea, United also have young English players. But they also all go out and get that mid to late 30s keeper to sit on the bench. It's boring and against the spirit of the rule.

There is also this bizarre situation with Nunez having 2 agents working on the deal. United are dealing with Mendes (shock) who is giving us one price and some clubs are dealing with his other agent who are giving him another price. For example, Mendes has told us it will take around £60m whilst Paul Joyce (Liverpool tier 1) has said that Liverpool have been quote £85m

Was a steal at the 7m buyout. Also our top scorer in cups last season.

With Origi gone & Mane likely gone in the near future I thought we may have kept him on for another season.

Can only see us doing it if Raph is 100% going (which looks likely despite Barcas $$ troubles). Marsch apparently doesn't play wingers but to be honest as a relegation team Minamino wouldn't be the worst signing.

Cause we're not spending money for once. Good defender, will help us stabilise, give depth. I want to see some signings that will push us forward. Given we have Keane, Mina, Godfrey, Holgate, Branthwaite already I assume someone is on the way out

I have no doubt you can afford it but it is fair to say you rarely pay those prices out of choice.
