Would be a bad way to use close to half our transfer budget. Idiotic to think otherwise. Let's spend 60m on a guy who won't displace Son, Kane or Kulusevski and is just a campaignerier version of Lucas. Whilst still having Harry Winks as 4th choice CM. No CM with creativity.

Would rather spend 30m on Brennan Johnson to sit on the bench

I'm okay with signing him as long as we get one of Pau Torres or Gavridol at LCB, a proper backup ST and sign a CM that can play a forward pass. Just seems excessive amount to spend on a player who'll play the odd cup game, be injury cover and get mins off the bench

It ain’t in the final stages. Predicting another week atleast before anything happens.

There’s always that possibility another club comes into the picture too.

It is. Notice how the chatter has died off a little, less guesswork on fee. This is because the two clubs are finalising the price. The leaks have died off.

Richarlison makes 0 sense. Is a poor man's Son who will cost triple what we paid for Son. Plus Cristian Romero hates him. And he looks like a ninja turtle
Richarlison makes a ton of sense for Spurs. He can play both as a striker and as a winger. Bergwijn is on the way out. And spurs finally get a proper striker alternative to Harry Kane, so they can start resting him for cup matches.

The question is will Richarlison be happy with a reduced role.

No doubt he is quality player. But 60m for a guy to play a reduced role like that?

Unless we are spending over 200m this window it's an excessive amount for someone to ideally start less than 8 league games

An injury to Kane or Son and Richarlison will start every week. Its a good signing if it is pulled off.

That would be a disaster as he isnt that good. Spending that much for injury cover who is clearly a step down is excessive and wasteful. If Kane or Son get injured like we've had before, we deal with it with having less quality on the pitch. Spending 60m to still have less quality on the pitch is pointless. It's a 12 year old playing fifa signing. Richarlison starting 8+ league games because Kane or Son have missed thay many injured and we are still ****ed

Look at city and Liverpool's squads

Need to play like a 12 year old to have a chance of keeping up

We don't have City's money

Liverpool front 3 of Diaz-Nunez- Salah with Jota to come is great. Assuming Mane is gone. Firmino and Miniamo are clear steps down who either were cheap or phased out old starters. Backups are needed. But spending half your budget on one isn't.

We need to replace Bergwijn no doubt about that. But we shouldn't be spending more than 40m on the replacement. If Richarlison costs that much. Or Winks plus 30m then great deal. But with the other areas we need starters addressed then we can't just go and spend that level for someone to clean Sonny's boots

Richarlison could be a great signing of if he's been identified by Conte as what he needs for his plan. Thinking he could thrive in the right system like Mane and Jota have find at Liverpool. Attitude the obvious flag.

In saying that I think he would be a bigger loss to Everton then gain to spurs. They're only real x-factor and played a major role in keeping them up.

Could be something we work into the dele deal.

Sorry Cruyff14 but too much disagreeable nonsense the last page. Mostly from your pal.

Richarlison is a good purchase if it were to happen. Who gives a **** if he costs £51m. Got 150-250m to spend. Rumoured to get Eriksen back for free.

That would mean £20m for Spence. Forster, Eriksen, Perisic.

Strongly linked to Bissouma, Paqueta and McKennie.

Get two of those and that merely leaves a backup CF and a left sides CB. And same as every other season an out and out no.9 will not join merely to sit on the bench for Kane. Hence why a CF who can play on a wing, like Richarlison makes sense.

Tl;dr version. Plenty of cash to spend on 1-2x CM/AM, LCB and a CF once we take 20m out of the kitty for Spence.

I don't think he would be a bad signing, for the right price. He is a definite flog though.

Unless Conte is finding a 12 man formation, Richarlison is likely to come on in the 70th minute in the league. Very good player. But well behind Son.

If somehow the fee is right, and we get a backup of that quality for backup prices then go ahead. But going close to breaking our record fee for someone that no Spurs fan in their right mind has in our best XI seems a bit odd

Yeah would be like when we signed Aurier. You know you won't like the person but gotta appreciate the footballer somehow. At least with Richarlison he can play!

Personally I'd rather Bowen or Watkins for the same price to be backup and help solve our HG issues. And they aren't flogs

Playing back up could harm Richarlison’s World Cup chances
Who gives a duck if he costs £51m. Got 150-250m to spend.
Wouldn’t you be better off spending that kind of money and most of the spending on starters? Conte wants another mid, cb and wing back (couple) that are surely higher priority. You can get a wide forward for much cheaper and not that much worse.

Doubt you’re spending £250m in one window. Is this on top of the £70m due for Romero and Kulevski?

It's 150m including Romero. Kulu will be next window. But I agree. Why spend so much for someone you have no intention of being a regular starter.

Spend 70m on a CB and 50m on a CM. 20m already assigned for Spence at RWB. So far when Paratici goes big with us he has landed quality, especially out of Italy. Do it for a game changer to your starting XI. Upgrading Hojberg/Bentancur and Davies. Not on your backup to Son

He might start next in the front 3 next to son and Kane?

Only 25. Plays well for Brazil. Might improve in a better team.
