He has earnt enough during his career doesn't really need it....

*Don't think he will get many offers anyways so maybe might just take the money and run.

The fact that he still hasn't accepted 173m from the Saudis is quite telling. Money's huge but he pretty much gives up 2 and a half years of his and his young families lifestyle by moving to Saudi Arabia.

Assume he'd live at Dubai or Abu Dhabi if he's playing in Saudi?

He doesn't seem that keen on middle east

Possibly but what kind of a message does that send? Pay him 173m and he can't even live in the city where he plays football.

Would be easier for him to live & commute from Cyprus anyway if that's what he is going to do. Again, the problem with that is how it plays out publicly.

If he had 173m on the table from an A League or an MLS side he most likely would have signed the deal already by now.

I assume this is some of the loose change they still had down the couch from Coutinho's sale?

Nah we got funds available for a big midfield signing. We bid for Tchouameni last summer and it didn’t happen. So the funds have been sitting there. Instead we just loaned in Arthur at the last minute to fill a spot.

Spending just 20m on first team midfielders in the previous 4 yeara might have just a little to do with it.

In what way? Do you get midfield money that you can save up if you don't use it? Where does that come from?

Spending 100m on Nunez last summer - did that come from your striker money?

So in the last 5 seasons, Liverpool have spent €458.95M on transfers (including €10.40M in one of those seasons transfer windows) and sold €213.27M worth of players. I am not sure posting that link is really helping your cause the way that you thought it would.

The question was how Nunez was funded. Thats clearly demonstrated in the 22/23 transfer summary.

Fair enough mate! I just think that every big club doesn’t have money issues and Liverpool have shown it as well.

These transfer fees are crazy for all clubs though. £80-100M on certain type of players used to be £30-50M on the same type of player. Neymar and Mbappe went for higher transfer fees than Ronaldo’s original fee to Real Madrid and his transfer fee to Juventus, fair enough.

But now you have the likes of Lukaku, Felix, Coutinho, Pogba, Grealish, Dembele, and a few players this summer, being sold for that what Ronaldo was and it is simply crazy. It’s nuts what a Jack Grealish can go for.

I remember when Ruel Fox got a transfer from Norwich for £1m and people were shocked at how out of control transfers were.

Roy Keane for £3.75M. He’d go for over £150M in todays market considering what players with a quarter of his talent are going for. 😂
