TBH I'd probably prefer to do that than waste £160m on Antony and Sancho haha. We are like a couple if glasshouses when it comes to wasting money.

But while i think we'll be in for another Brighton player it wont be him.
How is Antony a waste of money?

I think Ten Hag can turn Sancho around.

Its interesting looking at the big money moves, not a lot of them work out.
Aside from VVD, none of those have worked out or been value for money so far. Lukaku, Pogba, Maguire and Pepe were outright flops, Grealish has been ok, as has Kepa since coming back into the side but not worth what their clubs paid for them, and it's still early days for the rest (although I can't ever see Nunez being good value).

I wonder if some of the very big money moves can be explained by club officials trousering a share of the fees.

Alternatively, there's Brighton...

While true, we have no depth there. Lokonga doesn't look up to it, and Xhaka is playing a more advanced role this season, one he's excelling it. If Partey gets a long term injury right now, we're in real trouble. He's the pivot that all of those attacking options rotate around.
Lokonga I feel will be up to it eventually in a Xhaka type role but he really needs to go out on loan so he can get games and experience under his belt. The Championship would be ideal for him for a season but right now, he's a body which we need as a stop gap measure. I like his attitude though.

I dont think hes value for money, hes ok but not worth €100m.

Sancho who knows, may have to head back to Germany. Been disappointing.
Definitely paid for potential with Antony but he's done well without being outstanding.

Sancho is having a tough time with his mental health which has affected other parts of his life which is probably why Ten Hag is being patient with him and there is little criticism of him in the media.

Has a better defence in front of him for france, but he's definitely on the wane.

Question will be, does he stick around as the #2, or do we stick with forster.
Either way, new GK at spurs is needed. Along with 2x cb, rwb, creative mid and a right winger.
and a coach that's in it for the long haul as well I'd say.

While true, if these two were at Chelsea doing the same things youd be trolling us over it haha

Not with Sancho no.

Yeah if you'd spent £80m on a winger and you were still 10th I'd be trolling you. If your Ukrainian end ups being average and you finish 10th then I will be on here trolling you x

Players get a bit of a grace period to adapt to a new league when their team is performing well.

We spent £62m atm, he needs to hit those add ons first.

Stop pretending that you are Liverpool. You spent £200m on him. Need to add bonuses + £200k per week x 8.5 years + £10m agent fee + sign on fee. Cmon mate, you're better than that. ;)

Yeah but they didn't really pay for it, they got Coutinho money from Liverpool.

I’m not sure why more teams aren’t tbh.

He is a quality player.
He's a bit weak in defensive aspects of his game and hasn't really the mercenary finishing skills to be able to overlook his defensive frailties. In the Premier League, you must have some defensive capabilities otherwise you won't be playing very often
