Dont Brighton want £100m?

Just another example of these shit stain clubs, agents and media looking to unsettle other teams players knowing such low ball offers won't get them the player but will turn their head.

Both those clubs would know we won't sell him now for that kind of money but the campaigners put it out there with their lap dog media only to willing to publish that bullshit

obviously a talented played but if you can get 100 mil for a kid with less than 30 prem games you're driving him to the airport yourself

They didn't bid 100 million though.

Knew the range of the valuation but still threw lowball bids out there to unsettle the player and for the media to feast on.

i know, thats why i said if

Brighton use the media to get a bigger sale price as much as buying clubs use the media to pay less.

If a bidding club doesn't pay what you want, reject the bid. But I don't really buy the amateur dramatics about how insulting a bid is.

Cry more.

60m opening bid for a player with less than 30 PL appearances. Hardly insulting you clown.

Also it wasn't the buying club who announced to the media they had a bid turned down.

Brighton should just match the wage offer and say we wont take less than 100m in January. Come see us in the summer.

Caicedo will get on with doing his job. Very rarely does a good player completely down tools. It weeds out who the shit stain footballers are when they do that after the window closes. Look at Berahino who did that years ago. We dodged a bullet there.

I kind of find this line of thinking ironic and clubs do it all the time. “We aren’t selling our player at the end of January…. But we absolutely will if you give us a lot more money than your offer.”

The player and his manager would be pushing this as much as anyone. You are saying to him hes worth £100m but only paying him £15k a week.

Maybe he just wants to be payed accordingly.

Well considering he is a key player and there is less than a week to replace him, there should definitely be a summer price & a January price nearly double that!

So sell him in the summer and set the price at the January price. If a player is a key player, why would you sell him in January for any price?

That's what I'm saying.

Say we will take 60m in the summer, or 100m now. Then leave it to the buying clubs to decide.

A key member leaving the squad this late could be the difference between Europa League and missing Europe for a club like Brighton. That alone could be worth 10-20m. So I think they've got every right to hold out for a ridiculous fee now.

As I said earlier, it's now in Brighton's best interest to go about restructuring their wage bill so that there's less incentive for players to move on. The amount they've banked in transfer profits is insane, let alone with the PL money on top. I'm sure a fair chunk is going into club infrastructure, but if you want stability and consistency in the PL you do need to pay your players a bit more. Hell, Hull have players on twice as much as Caicedo which is just bonkers.
