Brighton are just being greedy campaigners, that's the crux of it.
Not really that. They've got a price. Every player does. Bidding post January 28 that price includes an extra 30m! Fair enough on that front.

But don't then say oh wah teams are trying to buy our players. And they're talking to players agents. Don't sell them if you really don't want them to go. They don't have a release clause so just tell both clubs to piss of until June

If someone offered enough today, you'd sell him today. The mock outrage is a negotiating ploy.

Nah, the owners and board are ****ed right off with how this has gone down.

After having to deal with Trossard and his ****wit agent to have to be dealing with this shit all over again so soon why would they be happy.

Of course they are, they've been making it clear in the press. Should add another few million to the fee in the end.

Anyone that says they won't sell a player is lying.

Also if Brighton do start to get concerned about players and agents having their head turned for money, maybe they'll need to reconsider recruiting out of south American leagues where they're signing kids from poor areas onto 20-30k a week who've earned that per year at their previous clubs.

Lucky they have never said they won't sell, they simply said not at present.
Like I said, if someone offered them a good enough deal today, they would sell today.

Not for sale barring a huge bid = for sale

Glad we've got that cleared up, now we can all stop being offended by clubs bidding for a player that clearly is for sale.

You got a contract at work?

You get a better offer from another employer paying much more at perhaps a better place, you just gonna carry on like nothing has happened?

Doubt many of us in this thread have a 4 year contract. I can leave anytime I want at my job as long as I give 2 months notice.

And by the same token that player has the safety net of still getting paid if they are out with a long term injury. That equation works both ways - cant have the security of the contract then complain when you feel you are underpaid. Thats when your agent earns their money getting you a better deal.

Can Chelsea and Arsenal bid for a few more Brighton players if this is the result, we need all the help we can get for the FA Cup game.

A bidding war for Mitomo would be most helpful.

Works both ways - we may have to leave Ox out due to Brighton wanting him.
