Do you guys ever miss the simple enjoyment of seeing young, academy kids get time and then flourish? Or does the transfer market dopamine overrule all?

As much as everyone loves a new transfer I think most sensible PL fans are uneasy about the money in the game these days, even ones that support the biggest clubs.

Yeah something needs to be done to slow it down.

Otherwise winning trophies without a nation state backing the club will be nigh on impossible.

Boehly has gone nuts but I am certain Chelsea will not keep this up long term. Once the club is no longee his shiny new toy investement will drop dramatically.

I get my fix in that area by watching our U21s games + U19s UEFA Youth League when they air, and keep close attention to our loan players as well.

When someone does get their chance in the first team I know who they are.

I’m not the biggest fan of moving 16 year olds myself - much prefer them to stay in school and in their family setup. Obviously with Bellingham his mum moved with him, same with Pulisic. Actually Pulisic finished his schooling in a regular school in Dortmund.

I honestly am more excited when guys like Pulisic/Tom Rothe/Moukoko come through, as they’ve had a long time with the u16/u17 set up. Something more organic about that. Bellingham is also fun to watch but it’s obvious he won’t have a long playing history with us. Pulisic leaving hurt more.

The dad stayed with the other Bellingham then? Cos he is still in England

Yep - not sure if she is still there, but whilst he was still a minor she was there. I think it had something to do with the age and European rules regarding underage players. Great we got him but still don’t like kids that young moving.

Still waiting for the hype you put on Curtis Jones to actually materialise as a better than Championship player.
I dont recall putting a ton of hype on him. I remember calling him a baller. Thats about it. Never said he was the next Messi or anything but you do you.
