Nobody bids until the player agrees the transfer. It's ok, FSG pulled the wool over your eyes for 2 years on Bellingham.

I never expected them to put up the money required to sign him. They're tight arses. JB is worth 130m for me, one of the few players worth spending that coin on, good for 10 years of top class football and home grown. They did bid 84m, they had been speaking to Bellingham for a long time but can't get close to BD's demands.
Well Caicedo gave Rice a beating when we played WH so he's gotta be worth more now.

Rice is HG and the better player. Caicedo on the other hand has just signed a long term deal. Would value both around the 80-90m range.
Rice could be had for a bargain in 12 months if he stays though (and doesn't sign a new deal).
Better player is a subjective opinion.
He wasn't better when the two met on March 5. Not even close.

Have you seen how bad West Ham have been this year? It's been pretty hard for him to shine in a team that has 20% possession.
I'd have thought being a defensive mid in an average team is a great way to showcase your talent with the ball around you so often.
When we were bog average that's what made Bissouma stand out so much in those sides.

Talent for tackling sure. Not for passing or driving the team up the field. Rice is better than Caicedo. Has been doing it longer. Caicedo could become another Cucurella.

Possession doesn't really mean much. It's what you do with it when you have it that counts.
