They had to release him as his contract was up and he wouldn't sign again

Ambitious. 2 years left on deal and seemingly set on leaving. Not impossible but that would have been his fee a year ago for me.
Reckon the Enzo Fernandez deal sort of reset the market a bit there which goes in our favour.

He had a 5 year contract and was a buyout clause. Don't see it affecting the market too much.
