Right, was thinking more as a backup for homegrown status I suppose.

What's the deal with the loan agreement? Is there a buy option? If so surely you take it. If not I can't imagine Chelsea will sell him and if they do they'll probably get much bigger bids from competing clubs than Brighton. It's kind of a reverse of Ben White Leeds loan scenario.

Dry loan and he still has another 3 years on his contract.

Just a regular loan.

It doesn't seem to be about the money for him as I believe Chelsea have put forward a longer term contract and he hasn't signed it yet.

He's young and just played a huge part in getting our team into Europe. He probably just wants to be part of that journey now.

Seems to love RDZ as well.
