Never go full jd nuffie mode and believe the daily mail. Going full JD is a tough day at the office.

Doesn’t count, he’s not a Leicester insider.

Everyone knows Fab isn’t the best source for secret Leicester deals 😎😂

The following prem players are listed as released.

Maitland-Niles - Arsenal
Gundogan and Mendy - Man City
Tiemoue Bakayoko - Chelsea
Steven Sessegnon - Fulham
Joel Robles - Leeds
De Gea - Man United
Walcott - Southampton
Lanzini - West Ham

Without doubt a totally made up story.

I'm sure we are close to Kovacic, I'm sure we are negotiating a fee. But FFP has nothing to do with it, whether we pay in installments or 100% up front, the cost is amortised over the length of the contract.

What about the fee for the selling club, which is what he is talking about. The instalments are what he means FFP wise for us.

Fair to say De Gea not getting his option triggered has flown under the radar a bit?

If its just a matter of installments, the fee is settled on the sale.

Not strictly true. If you have a deal with add-ons, how much is add-ons vs the upfront fee would change their FFP for this year. I suspect that's what it means.

The fee isn't the money in the bank though, that's the instalments

Selling club recognises all of the up-front fee (i.e. total transfer less add-ons) in the year the sale is made, buying club recognises the upfront fee over the length of the contract, so I understand and agree with Moomba that changing whether you are paid in instalments or all at once has no bearing on FFP, but what I suspect the story is about is the potential add-ons (appearances being the main one I'd guess) and what weighting in the fee is add-ons vs upfront fee.
