That’s what I can see happening with Mason Greenwood. If United get rid of him, I think most British clubs would think he isn’t worth the hassle. Saudi Arabia is an opportunity for him.

I don't think Greenwood can play in Britain at least for a while. He's contracted to 2025. Maybe United can extract a transfer fee? (with the usual paper bags being exchanged)

Gylfi Sigurðsson to Saudi too? He's only 33. Was never charged and GMP have said they are not looking into him any further.

Gundo to Barca looks like it's happening.

Big shame, made a big contribution to the club. Possibly more in the last two seasons than the start. Peps first signing iirc, and what an amazing signing he was.

No. This will be a ploy to get Brentford to lower their price. 12 months left so may be inclined to sell.

Still agreed terms with the player which is all Fab has noted

Im not a Raya fan, i think there are better/cheaper options out there anyway.

Agree its a weird one to try and call Fab out on.

Our appeal will be that’s he’s an upgrade and from his Bolton days is HG.

HG keeper given we’ll sell Dier, Sanchez and Tanganga may be the difference between best CB available and Maguire.

If any rule has been broken, then I'm happy to see it play out.

I don't really see the logic in Saudi investing in one of Clearlakes investment funds just so they can overpay for Chelsea players. What do they get out of it?

If Saudis want players they can just put in a bid, and try to make a deal. Like they've tried for a variety of Chelsea and non Chelsea players.

It is totally unsurprising that you're on here defending sportswashers.

The motive for Saudis is obvious. PIF owns 4 clubs in the Saudi league and if they were allowed to would buy every club in the EPL. This way they can pull strings by ploughing capital into the investment firms that own PL clubs. They get a slice and don't own it officially on paper.

The motive for Boehly / Chelsea is obvious - FFP compliance. The players get 5-7 x their current salary to go along with the whole charade.

You should just call it out for what it is.

You really are quite tiresome, I'm not defending anyone.

As I've said, if any rules have been broken I'm happy to see things play out.

But what I'm not sure about is if any rules have been broken (or are in place for something like this).

Your motive for Saudi seems a bit like a tin foil hat conspiracy theory to be honest.

£60/65 million? Not sure I would like the club to go that high for a player with one year left on his contract.

Glad we backed out of that deal completely. Seems well over the odds. Better, cheaper players available overseas. Seems the only thing going for him is HG status.

Sounds like ETH is desperate to get him in this window.

Yeah, sounds like it. If Qatar become the new owners, money isn’t an object and they won’t care about paying overs. But it’s still going to be too much money and shouldn’t be a habit with the new owners. Paying overs was the Glazers forte, it shouldn’t be with SJR/SJ.

Sheikh is known as HBJ, not SJ.

Always interesting how a generous private businessman with a net worth of £2bn is bidding £6bn for a football club!

I don’t think anyone believes it is one single businessman in Qatar and not the state itself.
