Sounds like a JWP for Flynn Downes and cash deal may have legs to it, Russell Martin used to manage the latter at Swansea and is a big fan.

Steidten also wants us to sign Ao Tanaka from Dusseldorf, and he'd only cost us about 3M apparently.

They're paying well above market value. No European team is paying a transfer fee for those Chelsea players with the wages they're on.

Basically the exact same situation that Arsenal are in with Pepe and previously Aubamayeng/Bellerin who we gave to Barca for nothing to simply get their wages off our books.

Will be interesting if any other team benefit from receiving transfer fees or if it's just Chelsea.

Looking at transfermarkt - Koulibaly has a current transfer value of €15m, Ziyech €16m, Mendy €12m. I guess it remains to be seen how much Chelsea receive for the sales (has anything been announced yet?)

Wolves are getting a fee for Neves, Arsenal reportedly getting a fee for Partey and maybe even us for Mahrez/Bernardo.

No sure how transfermarkt has given them those transfer values. All three players over 30 with at least two years to run on their contracts with wages over 100k.

No European club is offering a transfer fee for them with the wages they're on, at their age and with their lack of form. At their ages you might find an interested buyer from Italy who could offer a loan with option to buy after two years. I've seen rumoured fees for around 15-20m, which is 15-20m too much. The incentive to get their wages off the books.

Partey is one of the best mids in the PL, Neves is highly rated for whatever reason and Mahrez is still a more than a handy player and Bernanrdo walks into any team in the world. Makes sense that these players would only be sold with transfer fees attached.

Pepe from us has been linked to one of the Saudi teams and no doubt players who are deadwood from other clubs outside of Chelsea will end up there but it will be interesting what and if they receive a transfer fee for them.

man his career really just died in the arse
His highlight will always be that barnstorming run against City. Similar happened with Ademola Lookman who scored in the same game. Shows you that flashes arent always the final product.

We got 17m for KK, 8m for Zyiech and Mendy is rumoured to be 10m.

65m for Havertz seems a lot dodgier than any of those.

Also shows how important proper coaching and club stability is. Lookman is thriving in Italy now while Davies’ career has stalled by staying.

Those transfer values are based off their current wages.

At the wages the Saudis are paying in a realistic market they go for free. Like Auba to Barca.

Haven't heard Neves wage details but imagine it's a totally unrealistic and unsustainable amount. The Saudi league is reliant on the government funding it.

It makes no sense. If those players were sold elsewhere Chelsea would still receive a fee. The players might not receive the mega wages elsewhere but that has nothing to do with Chelsea/FFP.
