Pep can spend nothing, coach the existing squad as best he can and hope that opposition supporters will rate him as a manager.

Or he can spend money rebuilding the squad for the future and replace players that have left or are leaving and have opposition supporters downplay his success.

Hmmmm tough choice.

Point missed.

I'd say more ignored than missed. Because it's a stupid point.

It's stupid to point out that one of the best managers of all time is only successful off the back of large spending sprees? Not sure about that.

I'd look at the job a Ruben Selles did at Reading in the circumstances they operated in as far more impressive than a manager who needs a ton of money to be successful.

Yes it is.

City's net spend hasn't been that high in recent years. Now is the time to go big on a rebuild.
Not just in terms of money (although I imagine were about £10m in profit so far this season - hi mo :)).

Our squad is getting old. Ederson, Ortega, Walker, Stones, Ake, Gundo, Kovacic, Bernardo, KDB are all over 30.

It's hard to move on players that have achieved so much but I doubt any of them will be with us in two years time.

Klopp once had 2m spent on CBs by FSG. when all CBs were out for the season in Jan.

And ended up finishing the season in 3rd with a CB partnership who played the previous season at Kidderminster & Bundesliga divvy 2 respectively.

That's what you call managing without resorting to a chequebook to fix short term issues.

This City rebuild is a long term issue.

Poor old downtrodden Liverpool. Never spent a penny apparently.

That's because you spent over 100million on a CB and Goalkeeper a couple of years before, but you know, facts are shit.

They bought £70m worth of new players that summer.

Can't have, they don't spend
I've heard their players are actually planted and raised in pots outside the training ground.

Net spend, £10.50 on a new spade in 2019.

Dibling is quality, think he could do better than Spurs tbh.

He signed for Chelsea but only stayed there a couple of months because he was homesick. That was a couple of years ago so maybe he would be more ready for a move now.
