Wirtz I thought was already the best player to transfer across the market this window. Isak too would be phenomenal for Liverpool. It already would’ve taken a monster fee to prize him out of Newcastle, but with them qualifying for CL and his long term contract, they’re in a very strong bargaining position.

Then again his injury record isn’t great and he does come with risk.

They would have no shortage of funding and they seem to have no interest in selling him.

Like I say, why would they unless they need to for PSR compliance?
Despite the Saudi owners, Newcastle only make like 300mil in revenue.

Newcastle need to sell one one of their big players to stay in line with football fair play or whatever it's called. Been known for two years now. One of Bruno or Isak were the two names likely to be sold over past few seasons.

Isak also wants to move to Liverpool. He just woke make a big deal out of it..that could change if they bring in a replacement.

Sorry Newcastle fans....he might be going

Dont reckon we get Isak, he has three years on his contract and Newcastle now have CL football. Im sure he wants the move for bigger wages, bigger club, more chance to win things, more exposure etc... but I dont know if he will make a big enough fuss to get Newcastle to make the move.

What a time to be alive when people are pretending that the richest football owners in the world aren’t that rich.

Considering Saudi clubs are paying players 500k / week in oil money to play in front of crowds of 5k in the Saudi league can you imagine what wages Newcastle would be paying if there was no FFP? They'd have Mbappe there on 10 million a week without thinking about it.

Have you got a source for any of this?

I'm sure they'll claim it was always the plan but do wonder if it really was always their aim to not spend for a few windows and go all out this one or FSG realised after winning the league they could further increase the value of the club by further strengthening now and hopefully winning more.

Yep. Also benefiting from a few relatively quiet recent transfer windows and stable squad over the past few years.

Benefitting from being a well run club, despite people moaning about FSG. They've not put the club in any financial difficulty (unlike Man United), they've recruited well (unlike Man United) and got managers that suit the players (unlike Man United)

Aston Villa being able to sell the women's team to a parent company to bank profilt to avoid PSR is ****ing wild. If that is allowed just get rid of PSR altogether

I think West Ham has same PSR issues. Just sell the women's team for 250 mill to yourself and move forward
