I hold the view that this years EPL is there to be won - there is some chance Man City are a little Burt out.

Caicedo is ready. Lavia is not.

Also, Caicedo is a lot easier to integrate having already played with Mac Alister. Lavia not so much.
All valid reasons. It’s more the financial aspect for me but I guess that ties into the reasons you mentioned.

Yeah like I understand that and I guess they value him more but just seems bizarre that they couldn’t match Southamptons valuation when they clearly have the money 😂

Just because you have the money doesn't mean you think the player is worth it I guess.

That’s a massive signing for Liverpool. Holy crap.

Does that mean Salah, VVD, Allison etc are now to be sold? :D

Remember when some of their supporters tried to compare their league title to Leicester’s? VVD probably cost more money than Leicester’s combined XI. 😂

Oh my lord 110m. What did Klopp say about United and Pogba?
You’re not suggesting Klopp is a bad loser I hope. Complaining when things aren’t going his way. Never!

All very surreal being an Albion fan these days.

Gone from not having a pot to piss in to being the club who owns the record for the largest ever British transfer fee and I think 4th largest transfer fee in world football.

Crazy times.

I was only reading posts from Jod this morning that Liverpool don't spend money...

Crazy fees getting thrown around again this season.

To be fair, we have simultaneously cleared a significant amount of money off our wage bill this summer to create space for these signings. Probably in the order of £1 million per week or £50 million per season.

I suspect we will still end the summer with a lower wage bill than what we started with. The difference being a lot of that money was tied up in players who weren’t contributing much if at all.

Not crying poor at all - we have shown we are financially strong enough to compete, but we’ve always had an impetus to balance our incoming and outgoing players - probably moreso than some of the other bigger clubs.

Yeah I don't think you understand how well Caicedo can help protect the back 3/4 with his ability to break up plays and get back and help defend.

He has filled in as a RB for us and was still outstanding, so yet also get versatility.

He started at RB against Newcastle and was poor. Brighton only started playing when he switched into the middle and you brought Mac Allister off the bench.

It would be hilarious now if Brighton outbids Chelsea for Lavia.

Lavia to Brighton for 55m would be a classic.

He started at RB against Chelsea and was close to MOM.

I don't think Lavia is on our radar but the melts would be hilarious if it went that way.
