Didn’t they offer him a contract though?
Why not offer in January and if he didn't want to sign by March then announce he's leaving then so that fans can celebrate him?

Thought that was evident long before his late drop in form. They had been doing that though, and up until the final few weeks of the season all the talk seemed to suggest that an agreement wasn't far away for him to remain as #1 for next season. Unfortunately for DDG his massive drop in form forced the club to reconsider whether he was up to remaining as first choice.
It is brutal, and we all hate that Dave doesn't get a well deserved send off, but it is 100% the right decision for the club to not move forward with him as our #1.

It's a shame but it is what it is now.
If he was born 5-10 years earlier then he'd go down as one of the greats. Unfortunately, in the last 5-10 years, being able to play the ball out from the back has become just as important as being a great shot stopper. Not having the ability to play the ball out from the back and the evolution of tactical pressing has resulted in Dave not having a place at the pointy end of the elite level any more. I still have great memories of him. Shame that his peak came at a time when the club was in turmoil on and off the pitch. At his peak he was phenomenal. Almost unrecognisable to his recent form. Never thought I’d see such an undignified exit for a player of that calibre.

He was certainly right about Raya to Spurs. You can take it to the bank when Fab starts tweeting stuff like this.
Off to where all good goalkeepers go to die…Where's De Gea off to?

Big 3 aren't going to be interested thoughMy guess is back to Spain, unless a Saudi club offers him a stupid amount of money and he wants to play in that country.
Was a reference to it not being a total done deal despite agreeing to terms. Deals can always fall apart/not happen even when terms are agreedI thought of you as soon as I hit “post reply”.![]()
