We ditched Begovic so need a backup for Pickford that isn't a kid and isn't Andy Lonergan. It's not like we're bringing him in to start. The Ashley Young thing is a bit of a pisstake and shows you where our FFP is at. Another long season ahead... One problem I have with FFP is that if you have a shit season, can't buy players because of FFP then you're stuck in a vicious cycle which then means revnues will be down from TV/Europe (if previously in Europe) and sponsors. Then FFP won't be solved quick enough and boom, screwed.

Just reported that Bayern are now willing to cough up 90m pound for him. This to me sounds like more of a "look we tried everything to keep him" move by Levy. Guess if this is true there will be a new contract announced shortly.

I can’t see him staying beyond this contract most likely, will play out this season with the spurs and then move onto another PL club.

If Levy was smart he'd keep links quiet until they are secured. If it's leaked a new CF has been signed it would affect his bargaining position with Bayern significantly as they know that Levy doesn't want to sell him to another PL club and that Levy would be committed to a sale in the summer window with his contract expiring next year.


So to me it makes sense that links to other forwards would be kept quiet until they are locked in and a Kane sale is also agreed. In an ideal world they are both done at around the same time.

It feels exactly like Levy to me, he's done it every single year. He turned down the City money in the same scenario. He'd rather lose Kane for nothing than actively sell him.
