If he does join wearing a rainbow armband should be written into his contract.. Gerrard's club is one of the non government owned ones.

Otherwise I'd be disappointed to see him take the moolah. Not like he needs it to survive.

I'm a big believer in that you can't put a price on happiness and being with family & friends. Relocating to the Middle East would be unimaginable for me.

It's not like he'll be breaking rocks for two years. His family will have luxury accommodation, servants, be driven around in limos. He will train 2 or 3 hours for 5 days a week, then have a game at the weekend. It's basically a part time job that most of us would do for nothing.

If the numbers being quoted are correct he might earn £10,400,000 in two seasons for Liverpool or £36,400,000 in Saudi. It's a no brainer that Henderson will take the money. He just has to work out the PR so that he doesn't look a complete hypocrite after his rainbow laces stuff.

My uncle is an architect with 40 years experience. About 10 years ago he turned down an outrageously high salary to work in Dubai.

Both sons has just left school and his dad had no other next of kin in a nursing home. Middle east can’t put a price on family.

Footballers are on strict diets, can't go anywhere during the season. It's not a case of 3 hours training a day and a game every week. Your life is football pretty much.

Not a no brainer for me. Hendo has a young family. Saudi is no place for that.

Messi knocked back a billion euros over 3 years to play in Saudi. Accepted less than 1/5th of that in the MLS. If it came down to the best payday the Saudi league would be the best in the world immediately - until the royal family gets sick of underwriting huge losses.

Sister in law's old man walked away from a high paying consulting engineering job in Qatar because of what he saw and how he was treated. Had to pretend he was going on holiday to quit otherwise they take passports away.

Im very much aware of how money talks and as I've said I cant criticise someone for doing something that 99% of people would also do.
