Without the captaincy, I would say it might be a bit easier to sell him as I think Maguire did like the idea of being Manchester Unites captain and now that is no longer a deference. But facts are that he might not want to play in a different country and a club probably doesn’t want to pay his full wage. Which means United paying at least some of his wage for Maguire, who plays in a position where we are lacking for depth, to go elsewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t sold.

I think it's more of what's the need for him in a way. We already have 4 central defenders in Zouma, Aguerd, Kehrer and Ogbonna. If we were going to sign a CB, I'd prefer a younger prospect like Brainthwaite really.

He's just a more expensive version of Craig Dawson as I see it.

We need 3 CM's, an upgrade at LW, a striker if one of Scamacca / Antonio / Ings though and probably a RB before we need a CB really.
