Not sure what is more insane.
West Ham offering 30m to make Maguire their marquee defensive signing or United actually turning it down.

Neither. 30m for McTominay being offered and then somehow rejected by United is the most insane thing here.

Maguire will be a good signing for West Ham, I'm very confident about that. He'll be the player he is for England, not the United meme.

McTominay on the other hand is just a really average footballer who only has a couple of good games each season (usually against Leeds). After all these years he still has no clearly defined midfield role and he has the infuriating habit of hiding from the ball when the team are in possession by actively moving out of free space into positions that are blocked off. I can't believe he has this much interest and I'm even more shocked that United aren't desperate to cash in. He's a poor man's Fellaini with a home grown mark up.

Heard that McTominay's manager was at Preston when Moyes was there and one of the reason why he's after him.

Suspect we'll probably put in another offer for JWP next. Suprised we haven't had a look at someone like Dewsbury-Hall yet though.

For all the talk of West Hams academy they only got like 6 English players on the books. I think they simply need to sign players from England at this point to make the home grown quota so it explains the interest in Maguire and McTominay and Ward-Prowse

Im not sure any other English CBs really exist on the open market besides Maguire so its either him or no one?

Yeah agree, but i do think we'll have a compromise in the end like us and United for Mount.

Price of Maguire aside, he will likely thrive under Moyes. He won't go backwards I don't think and will likely be managed better due to the expectations of WH being far less than what they were at United, plus having know what Moyes is like - externally anyway - as a manager and what he did for guys like Jags, Yobo, Stones, Distin etc, Harry will be better off there.

Needs a good combo of club (outside noise included) plus manager

Winstanley should know better than anyone that Bloom and co. wouldn't be entertaining any bids that weren't even close to their evaluation.

The whole saga could have been over if they just got close to the valuation.

There was never going to be much room for bargaining with this player.

U21 HG club players do not count toward registration, or those at the club for two years or more.

Under 21s dont count to the 25. Can have 50 u21s if you want and play them as you wish. You also do not need to have 25 players. You can have 17 and then 50 u21s for example so you dont need to complete the 25.

In saying that if you are playing European football you probably want as much depth as you can have id say so would be hard to see West Ham not getting to the 25
