Nobody is forcing Chelsea to do anything.

They know the price and can either pay it or not.

Or another club was monitoring the situation and saw that Chelsea were dragging their feet on a deal and saw an opportunity to jump in and they took it.

That's possible. For me if there was any real interest in Caicedo we would have been in dialogue regularly over the summer. The likelihood of signing a more expensive player because we are a few million out on Lavia's valuation seems low.

Not a bad tactic by Brighton to leak this though.

Caicedo is twice the player Lavia is though.

Caicedo's agents are slime balls so it's more likely been they put other teams off Moises to try and force a move to Chelsea and now when it's clear that their attempt to make that happen won't work they have become open to the next biggest pay check.

That's Caicedo's biggest motivation is the money.

I think it's a smart buy for Liverpool, he's only 21 and already one of the best DM in the PL.

Owns that position at the club for 10 years and it's only 11 million a season avg.

I hold the view that this years EPL is there to be won - there is some chance Man City are a little burnt out.

Caicedo is ready. Lavia is not.

Also, Caicedo is a lot easier to integrate having already played with Mac Alister. Lavia not so much.
