Liverpool’s American owners would be unlike any other if they get that offer and don’t accept it. The transfer window has shut but the Glazers would sure as shit be selling their own children alongside the player if they were offered £200 million, even outside of the European transfer window.

They'll accept but in 12 months time once a successor has been found. Absolutely nothing to be gained for FSG by selling him now when the same money can be had in 12 months time. Plus Salah's agent already said he's not interested in the Saudi league at this point in time. Everyone knows how desperate the Saudis are - they'll be back - they want the icon of the Arabic football world.

Obviously selling a player they bought for 36 million 7 years ago for 200m at 32 years old s the stuff of wet dreams for the likes of Fenway Shite Group. For this reason I can see a deal being done next summer.

I see Salah in the Ronaldo mould in that he’s such an extraordinary athlete and so professional in his mentality, I could see him still performing at an elite level well into his mid-30s. He’s a few years (and hopefully trophies) off needing to take the Saudi pay day.

Right so the Fenway Group is going to risk £200m on a possible knee injury to a 31 yo ?

Ten Haag is hilarious. Sanchos worth went from like 20 mill to what id say now is that Man United will need to buy him out of his contract so he can leave

I think come January, United give Sancho a 10 mill golden handshake and he leaves on a free to a club like West Ham or Aston Villa on a big sign on fee + 100k a week to cover the 250k a week he is still owed at Man U

The list of huge transfers that end up compete flops at United is Horrific

Pogba €105m
Ronaldo €17m (more wages than transfer fee)
Antony €95m
Maguire €87m
Sancho €85m
van der Beek €39m
Fred €59m
Lakaku €84m
Matic €45m
Martial €60m
Di Maria €75m

WTF are they doing at that club

Thats 50% of the problem. With every one of these the issue was their wages made them unmoveable.

The logic in spending 85 mill on a bloke and giving him 250k a week is flawed. They are much better off giving out large sign-on fees and smaller wages . If they did that for all of these, they would and could have been sold as opposed to just hanging around like bad smells around the joint. Chelsea always been able to get rid of their flops you will find and that is largely because their flops dont earn 250k a week like Man Us do

This is what happens when the Glazers appoint their money men to handle transfer business.

That list is damning but it's worth noting that the Martial fee they've got listed here is very misleading. About half of his fee included insane performance based triggers like winning a golden boot, Ballon d'Or, the league, etc. which obviously haven't been triggered. I also think that Matic doesn't belong on that list.

Maguire & Sancho get all the headlines but considering their stature in the game at the time the deals were made and the English tax, it isn't that surprising that they cost so much. The worst one here for me is DVB because it just made no sense to spend that money on a guy who was always going to be behind both Bruno and Pogba and I think it really sums up the lack of thought and long term planning that has underpinned the majority of United's business in the post Ferguson era.

At least they didn't give Pogba a new contract. That would have been disastrous.

One explanation is that club officials are on the take.

The club is a shitshow. Glazers are absolutely horrific and the people high up in roles at the club are just completely incompetent at their job (Murter & Arnold)

Pep wouldn’t even succeed at United the way it’s run at the moment.

Not sure where they get that figure though to be honest. It's more like 95 million pounds, not 121.

Also City is way off too having a net spend of 109 million pounds.
