Nah Bellingham was actual real target. I dont think Liverpool are even interested in Mbappe and when I say interested I mean entertain the thought of trying to get him as obviously every team would be interested in Mbappe.

The big difference I saw between him at BVB and MUFC was the quality of the fullbacks he had with him. At Dortmund he has a lot of space created due to a) counter attacks but also b) Hakimi and Guerrerio taking a defender with them in their runs and opening the 1v1. Lots of times at MUFC I saw Sancho just expected to take on 2 defenders and eventually passing backwards to the fullbacks instead of laterally or diagonally forward.

Yeah, his partnership with Hakimi in particular was brilliant to watch. MUFC saw that and actually thought he could do the same job on the right with AWB supporting him, just goes to show the lack of consideration that has gone into how new signings would link up with existing players.

I saw Solskjaer interviewed about this recently and he said that the club told him that Sancho would solve our right wing problem for the long term future. Ole then says after the first training session it was obvious that he was a significantly better player on the left. Which anyone who had seen him play already knew. Genius stuff from the MUFC scouting team.

You could probably make a profit on the deal by flogging Nketiah for 20m or so.
