Where could he move to that would avoid a big UK tax bill and maximise his earnings? I don't reckon PSG would have him. Bayern maybe?

I have no sympathy for him. It was all about the money.

He was already extremely rich - on nearly £10 million per year at Liverpool. Think about that. The average wage in the UK is about £38,000, probably less than that in Liverpool where he played most of his career, or Sunderland where he comes from.

When he moved to Saudi he doubled his wages and paid no tax so it's the equivalent of quadrupling his wages. If he gets out of his contract in 6 months he still has made £5 million tax free, plus whatever his next contract pays him.
