Not difficult for a muti club ownership to manipulate those figures in their favor though.
Isn't it?

Transfer ban for Srrasbourg coming up.

It's just tin foil hat stuff. If we spend £30m on a £40m rated player we'll get pulled up on it.

If we spend £50m on a £40m player we'd get pulled up on it.

We'd find it easier manipulating a transfer fee with a non CFG club.

If you manipulate it over or under paying you're just stuffing the other club in the group up. I guess with CFG Troyes and Melb City are well down the pecking order.

Since we don't have FFP in Aus everything should/could be done through Melbourne City as it was with Mooy.

Why should you get pulled up on it? Clubs over/under pay all the time.

It's just the rules with associated parties.

So it would benefit Man City buying cheap off Melb City and then onselling for a profit.

Kinda like they're doing with Troyes here. Meanwhile they are relegation battle in Ligue2 while they've had a player farmed out to PSV and now Girona.

Impossible to police the under paying. Clubs disagree all the time on fair value.

But there's clear benefit to being part of these multi club models for the larger parties compared to their rivals who aren't in that model. And the trade off to the smaller club is an enhanced scouting network.

I think it's going to become more the norm, and won't be surprised if the rest of the big 6 move towards these models in the next decade

Troyes bought him for £5m, and are selling him for five times that price.

Which is market value if you believe transfermarkt. As much as I like to hang shit on City for flouting rules, this is something they are not doing in this case. Now if they are doing this to enable Troyes to flout UEFA FFP then sure, but unlikely given they are in Ligue 2 and closer to dropping into Championnat National.

Something else to consider, a club may have a higher bid than City, but the player can refuse to go, and just decide to stay under the CityGroup umbrella.

Could happen if he was under the CFG umbrella or not. I would think if someone bid higher for Savio, that would have an effect on fair market value and our costs for FFP/PSR would be adjusted.

Similarly, Liverpool could bid for Savio, someone could bid higher but he would rather go to Liverpool. In that case, fair market value wouldn't apply.

It only looks like shit if you then don't play him, loan him again and sell for more than that.

Bit of shifting players within the group to maximise who makes what profit and when. And Savio never plays for his parent clubs. Rules aren't broken. Just an odd space we're in now

It may look shit to some.

But when it comes down to it, if we pay the going rate for a player, what happens next is none of anyones business.

If Ineos/Glazers don’t care about the backlash, Greenwood is very likely to be back at United next season.
The Glazers won't give a shit. It's Ratcliffe's decision. No idea what he will do.

It’s going to be a decision that will piss people off either way. **** him off and people will be pissed SJR has just ****ed off perhaps the clubs best forward. Or keep him and people will be pissed off that SJR has allowed a woman beating rapist back into the club.
