That's a great signing for Sunderland.

Should do ok for them. Won't track back much defensively and help out the defense.

Also prone to burning team mates when a player is in a better position than he is.

Will be interesting to see how he goes if all they expect him to do is attack and shoot.

Pros are the 1 in 8ish games where he's on and can be quite unplayable. Very direct and likes to shoot.

Cons are the other 7 games, he tries too much, is quite selfish and a very one trick pony(think a poor man's Robben). Plus hes terrible on the left as hes very one footed.

Still youngish so he could improve.

Hopefully Arteta can coach some of the selfishness out of him. We need direct players who like to run at defences, it's what we are lacking.

Needs some consistency and learn to make better decisions by the sound of it.

I mean my biggest criticism of our forwards is they don’t shoot enough, so maybe that’s a good thing. Frustrates the hell out of me that some of our players (Martinelli in particular) seem afraid to pull the trigger sometimes.

£52m is more than I’d like to pay but isn’t breaking the bank in today’s market either.

He’s our player now so I’ll get behind him. Hope he proves me wrong.

Funnily enough, who wouldn’t want a poor man’s Robben? If Noni’s skillet is similar to Robben’s but he hasn’t unlocked it yet due to coaching or his young age, then he’s someone worth buying.

That would make it a very successful window. Expensive overspend on Kudus but maybe with talent around him there's a player in there that explodes. Gibbs-White offers us a great alternative to Maddison, but also a creative player who works hard enough who can play alongside him. Wharton at 6 would be a great get.

I ain't chef but I'll tell you something, if Arsenal do indeed sign Madueke, they'll be getting a player that shits all over Gyökeres.

Coventry and Gyökeres's people are tapping him up to get as much doe as they can for a Buendía level player so they can cash in.

Gyökeres is a good Championship standard player and a middle of the table Premier league player at best. Madueke is big, powerful, fast and has an eye for goal and I reckon Arteta could well play him down the middle as he has done with Havertz.

Gyökeres is a bench player and if you're going to spend 65 mill plus for him, then you'd be crazy not to try and sign Mbeumo, a proper Premier League striker instead of Gyökeres.

especially the part that says, "Under Premier League rules clubs are not allowed to talk to players under contract with another team unless they have permission.".

This is not cut and dried in other jurisdictions however the FIFA rules state: "Any person subject to the FIFA Statutes and regulations who acts in a manner designed to induce a breach of contract between a professional and a club in order to facilitate the transfer of the player shall be sanctioned." also; A club intending to conclude a contract with a professional must inform the player’s current club in writing before entering into negotiations with him. A professional shall only be free to conclude a contract with another club if his contract with his present club has expired or is due to expire within six months. Any breach of this provision shall be subject to appropriate sanctions."

The point is that when we read that a player has agreed personal terms with another club, it's usually crap unless it has been sanctioned by the parent club and clubs are normally loath to conduct their business in public.

The so-called "transfer experts", "journalists", "insiders" etc., are nothing more that gossip columnists like the ones "reporting" lewd and salacious gossip about movie starts and person's of interest. It's like the old page 3 girls if anyone can remember them but at least, there was something to look at!
