Very good move for the lad, certainly did well in Switzerland last season. Wonder how much your mob gets out of the transfer fee?
I don't support Adelaide United. I'm a MetroStars fan if anything.

I can see this one going through. Either Bayern or Barcelona, and he seems keen to leave.

Shame, super talented and important player for us. Not in the irreplaceable category though.

It’s going to be an off-season of big changes to our forward line.

We want 90m for Diaz. Could settle for around 75-80. Could be that Darwin & Diaz fund Isak.

Surprised he's wanted to much by Bayern. He's a good player, but he's a dime a dozen winger who is not a great shot at goal and likes to cut in onto his right.

They're trying to sign Etkitke. Imagine Isak would fund that deal.
They would have no shortage of funding and they seem to have no interest in selling him.

Like I say, why would they unless they need to for PSR compliance?

It would be for PSR reasons but also I severely doubt someone like Ekitke would sign unless he was going to be there main man up front.

I think we'd still be one short. I expect we'll be looking at another 2x attackers before the end of the window - a traditional CF to replace Nunez and a more versatile option to replace Diaz/Jota. In addition to Isak we've also been linked with the likes of Alvarez, Ekitike, Mateta, Rodrygo, Gordon and Eze over the past few months.

2024/25 options:
  • Diaz Jota Salah
  • Gakpo Nunez Chiesa
2025/26 options:
  • Wirtz xxx Salah
  • Gakpo xxx Chiesa
In terms of our younger players who are/will also rotate through the front 3, unclear what will happen with Harvey Elliott (22). looking for more playing time. Jayden Danns (19) and Rio Ngumoha (16) look really exciting - but if they break into the side it should be a bonus rather than an expectation (and the pressure that comes with that).

It could free up more $ for future deals in other windows?

We got on the right side of the PSR ledger by making some large sales of players we didn't need to sell for the money side of things.

I'm not sure we will sign 2. One definitely but 2 only if the second one is available on the cheap ie Chiesa.

There'd be a few others players newcastle would sell first if it was PSR stuff.

Only way this is happening is if Isak is pushing for the move.

That's my belief if the report isn't bullshit. Liverpool must know there is interest from the player. Otherwise, Newcastle would quite rightly tell us to **** off given their backing. Still contracted for a while though so other than sooking it up for 3 years he doesn't have a heap of leverage.

I guess a potential benefit for them would be flexibility to overall improve the squad without worrying about PSR if they have a heap of cash come in.

Chiesa hardly played last season. They might give Doak some game time. He played against Preston the other day. He usually plays RW but he's two footed so could switch if they were to play Wirtz more centrally.
