True but then it is up to the player not to sign a 6 year contract to begin with

Yeah no doubt, and clubs are in their rights to say nah mate you are staying.

But I'm just saying it's as much the player pushing for it as it is the buying club. Unless you are Real there is always a bigger clubs out there to poach your players.

40m for Thiaw is pretty good business, we accepted 25m from Como about a month ago, but the player wasn't keen. Scored 4 own goals last season, so 10m for each of them I guess.

Having said that, I think he's a good player, right system and coach and he'll be a good performer.
