Nasri Extends Contract With Marseille

Marseille playmaker Samir Nasri has signed a three-year extension with the club...

Nasri has been touted as the 'new Zidane' and linked with several of European football's biggest clubs.

He has impressed in the Champions League with l'OM and may have earned a place in the France squad for 2008, though he has not quite broken into their starting line-up just yet.

Despite the opportunity to move to a bigger league and a bigger club, Nasri looks to be staying put for the summer at the very least, as he has extended his deal from June 2009 to June 2012.

The 20-year-old has won seven caps for France, and in his 119 league appearances for the club since his 2004 debut, he has scored 10 times.

Oh and Sessegnon is another one linked to us and Spurs.

Do they actually have scouts?

Or do they just claim an interest on everyone we scout?

Serious question btw.

I've always thought it was the other way around. We were in serious discussions with Duff before Newcastle offered truck loads of cash. Martins we were talking to before the same happened.

I haven't heard of us being linked with either player that you mentioned though so most likely paper talk.

Interesting.

A few days (maybe a week or so) ago someone from Marseille said to the press that he had a £15m release clause.

I wonder whether that has changed. I'm assuming it probably has.

Giovani dos Santos to Manchester City is looking like a potential deal...at least according to Giovani's dad.

Giovani's management has been crying all season there are sooooo many clubs after him, trying to get a massive pay at Barcelona. The only reason I hope he stays is that he'll probably be better soon and we can get a lot more money for him. Other than that, I can't stand him - apart from a few shots at goal, he's done nothing but dive all season.

Ramos also is after a bigger contract at Real, but he deserves it big time. It's hard to imagine him leaving, but this season Real has come out to thank Raul and Casillas for having signed contracts below their market value... I don't think they'll manage to do the same with the much younger Ramos.

Raul and Iker are our two highest paid players. They are on crazy money. Guti will be getting something similar when he signs his lifetime contract shortly. We reward loyalty very well.

Seems that Hleb will be going to Inter. Not conviced enough to put it in confirmed transfer thread, but it seems just about done and dusted that he will buy out his contract and move to the san siro.

With Flamini gone and Hleb possibly going to Inter Arsenal really have to buy players if they want to challenge again next year, otherwise Tottenham taking their spot is quite a possibility.

The way this summer is shaping up, we'll be crashing out of the top 4 long before Arsenal next year.

I actually don't think so, Liverpool look as if they'll retain their key players and although they won't spend that big you wouldn't think I don't think they'll lose much ground.

Drawing a long bow to suggest that Spurs are the only side that can challenge the top 4. Especially if they lose Berbatov and don't get a replacement that is as good.

That will not happen.

If Hleb wants to go then Inter will have to pay a transfer fee.

Juve to table a £15 million bid for Xabi Alonso apparently... Similar price tag to be slapped on Peter Crouch.

I didn't say Tottenham were the only bunch who could challenge (IMO they're the best of the teams outside the big 4 though) just said that in the 08/09 season the longstanding prediction that Tottenham will overtake Arsenal may finally come true.

Other clubs that could challenge IMO would be the same as this year: Everton, Villa and possibly City. IMO Pompey aren't quite there yet.

15 million for Crouch?? take that in a heart beat...

15 million for Xabi.... tough decision. probably not. need to keep the top players.

We won't actually get 15, but I think it was more a ploy from Rafa to tell anyone thinking of an 8m bid to get ____ed.

We won't actually get 15,

I thought Rafa was insane with his transfer fee demands for Craig Bellamy.

I stopped laughing when West Ham paid 7.5mil for him.

It'll be interesting to see which club he sucks into paying 12mil plus for Crouch (like a few others, my money is on Spurs :D )
