Is anyone else thoroughly sick of clubs taking the higher moral ground when a rival bids for their players? United crack the sads when Real go after Ronaldo. Real have a sook when Chelsea try to buy Robinho. Spurs get all precious when United chase Berbatov, but forget how they got their manager.

FFS, I wish all these people would put their egoes aside and just accept that they're just as bad as everyone else. And these are Europe's biggest clubs too (well, Spurs aren't, despite their delusions of grandeur). It's not as if they're Cardiff City and they're losing a player like Aaron Ramsay that their fans would have hoped to enjoy watching for years to come.

Exactly Shinners, every club does it, so why get all precious about it?

How is that any different from Madrid's very public courtship of Ronaldo?

Its not, and thats the point that is being made. I hate how Bayern complained when we chased Hargreaves, and I hate how Real are complaining Robinho got chased, and I hate that we complained about Ronaldo getting chased, and the same goes for every other deal that has gone down in the last few years...

Im sick of it...

So with MU getting Berbatov does that make Everton the only Premier League club to not spend a penny on transfers?

Actually scrap that.
Everton have signed goalkeeper Carlo Nash from Wigan for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.

So we have spent $5.:(

Atleast your ins and outs list doesnt read like this Sheeds

IN
Behrami
One or two teenagers

OUT
Zamora
Paintsil
Anton
McCartney
Solano
Ljungberg

We have spend -15 million pounds at this stage.

£30m for an incredibly tempremental player. Thanks Man Utd. Won;t be long before he throws his toys out the pram and disrupts your club too.

As for Man City. WOW! Won't be long beofre they crack the top four, maybe this year who knows. They will throw money at it until they get it right much like Chelsea did. Very symbolic that it was Chelsea they stole Robinho from. So who will it be they replace in the top four, Liverpool, Arsenal....maybe even Chelsea...

Arsenal surely..... I still wouldnt discount Villa coming in and booting Liverpool out

No way it will be Chelsea.

If the 4 changes it will be Liverpool, unless Fabregas goes down with a serious injury, then it will be Arsenal...

SSN just said that we threw out bids today for 6 players, totalling over 300 million euros.

I think you can safely assume that we at least asked the question about Messi or Kaka.

It's a pity you didn't go all out (from what we know) for an absolute top class central midfielder because in the case of being successful in that instance you probably wouldn't have just challenged the top four, you would've cracked it. (see ya Liverpool)

Infact as it stands the respective quality of the squads of Liverpool and Manchester City aren't much different.

There's still quite a clear gap between the squads of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal and your teams but it's closing fast.

Really interested to see how things go from here.

Is it fair to say a deal of

30.75 mill pounds + Campbell on loan

is better then just

35 mill pounds

I mean it would of left Tottenham with 2 strikers.... Now they have 3 and someone with a bit of pace to go upfront too.

Yeah tis a good deal I think. berbatov is a ****, I'm glad he has gone.

It is a sad day for football though. No longer does it matter how well run your club is, or the traditions and history of it. It is now officially all about how rich your owners are. It is going to get really silly from here

And how much did Chelsea offer Robinho in wages?

And wheres that evidence of the £19m by the way, or did you just make that up.
Whether Chelsea offered 40 million or not. Who knows?

The issue in this case isn't money but principle. (haha Real Madrid trying to pretend to understand ethics)

It's obvious that Real Madrid didn't want to sell to Chelsea for three reasons and three very obvious ones;

1. They didn't land Ronaldo. If they did then this deal would've been completed straight after. No question about that.

2. Why sell to a Champions League rival to improve their team? Almost ridiculously. Real Madrid didn't need to sell to Chelsea and they didn't want to sell to Chelsea.

3. And then the clincher. Chelsea putting up his shirt on their website. Big mistake.

And then there's Robinho. He wanted to move to Chelsea and if both bids were accepted then he'd be there (unless of course there was a ridiculous difference in wages). Champions League football and stature does that to you.

But once it became clear/he was told that Real Madrid weren't to be accepting Chelsea's offer and following how clear he'd made it that he wanted out he really wanted and needed to move.

Manchester City comes into the equation big enough offer to Real Madrid and ego matching wage offer to Robinho. It's not that easy though. It's not just a case of offer moeny and get your man.

City have shown great ambition, they have great potential and will provide a great stage for Robinho to showcase his brilliance. That's why he's moved. And there's also a couple of Brazilian mates to keep him company. (Jo, Elano, Ireland)

He'd be excited about the move and with good reason. Great news for the Premier League.

I would have liked Campbell as a fourth striker but at least the deal is done and we can get focused on the training ground again...

Its been like this for the last 10 years, growing exponentially, and it will only get worse...

I fear for football...

I would of liked to keep McCartney as a left back but atleast the deal is done so we can focus on our relegation battle....;)

I fear for the teams who will get left behind. Man City now have ten times the amout of cash that Abramovich has. They will probably spend up to £500m in the next year, building a team of complete superstars on £150k+ a week.

I have to say a word for Arsenal here. Where does this leave them? The club is obviously close to being bankrupt. Wenger runs the club on a shoestring, defying the odds time and time again. But how can they compete with this sort of spending?

Something has got to give

Money.

A statement on Real's website said: "Real deplore the way Chelsea's directors have acted despite knowing perfectly well the decision not to sell the player, making statements and even going so far as to sell shirts with the player's name on through their official website."

Talk about class

Lets get a few things straight first. And I'll show you up here little boy.

1. Real Madrid said they'd never make a player stay against his will
2. Robinho publicly many times through his agent and directly at a press conference made mention of the fact that he wanted out.

So Real say 'decision not to sell the player'.

When;

1. It contradicts what they said about Ronaldo
2. They did end up selling the player. Make sense? Of course not.

There was obviously never a decision not to sell the player. And going by their comments Robinho's desire to move away from the Bernebau forced their hand.

They just didn't like that one of their players wanted to leave.

Anyway, I'm glad he ended up at Manchester City up until I realise that............................. JOE COLE@@#%#$^#$^^#&^ $%&$%&$%&$&&#$ 3

Well at present they still have a better team than at least 17 other Premier League teams.

So they're ok for now.

4. Calderon's ego. He didn't want to be dictated to by Robinho and Chelsea. Selling him to City allowed him to save face.

Frazer Campbell on loan at Spurs.

Berbatov to Man United for £30m or so.

Spurs drop the tapping up complaint.

I'm guessing the loan deal is there as there wasn't time for a medical, wouldn't surprise me if it was made permanent in January.
Spurs only with three strikers.

Not looking good.

I guess dos Santos could be considered a fourth option.

I love transfer deadline day. It's exciting even when your club does nothing.

Everyone is predicting big things for City, but they forget one important factor and that is that it's MAN CITY! It'll all go pear shaped somehow. :) Maybe.

Robinho will most likely take a season to acclimatise to English football. I don't think City will pull up any trees this season, but if they spend well in January and next summer then I guess they'll start to challenge.

yep, he's a scumbag.

obviously still hurting from Manchester United's resistance.

trying a brand of his own.

his is contradictory resistance though.
