Also with the Dallas stars... oh wait, they've done well since he took over.

They might not be doing so well soon. (Keeping in mind I don't have a clue about the NHL - and don't actually have any idea how they're travelling)

He's almost bankrupt. AGAIN.

You're quite welcome to have the Yanks (and Parry).

Just when Cardiff beat Boro in the Cup. Looked a handy player. He would possibly be better off going to a mid table EPL side first to get more game time, but having said that if he's good enough he'll flourish at United.

I'm sure that if we sign him, he'll be loaned out to get game time.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with him. I remember when we signed Liam Miller from Celtic. He was seen as an outstanding prospect, but his career never got off the ground.

Wouldn't put it past them with the current situation with our "custodians".

And I wouldn't put it past Tom and Uncle George to sell our best "asset". See what Thicks did at Corinthians.

Doesn't Torres have a 5 to 7 year contract with Liverpool? They can only sell him if he agrees to go.

Torres stuck with Atletico Madrid through thick and thin. I read a comment from one of they key people at Atletico saying that they're surprised that he stuck with them for so long. He'll be the same with Liverpool. I reckon that Torres is one of those rare players where it won't matter how much money Chelsea offer him, he'll still want to stay at Liverpool.

With Riise leaving, Smith would make a perfect replacement scapegoat.

And anyway, Liverpool need a balanced attack. Torres' brilliance would be perfectly balanced by Smith's ineptitude.

Surely Voronin, Kuyt, Kewell and to a lesser extent Crouchie have balanced out there forward structure to at least a level amount. Torres is good, but not that good. :D

He was quoted somewhere as saying he was only going to leave Atletico for Liverpool as he and his friends were huge Liverpool fans. Even said his captains armband back at At. Madrid had "You'll Never Walk Alone" on the inside. Man. Utd were definitely keen on him a few seasons back.

So chances of him leaving the team he supported? Pretty much 0%.

Oh for sure he wouldn't go. At the end of his career I wouldn't rule out him going back to AM for a couple of years though. Which would probably be a nice way for him to finish.

Just saying, that Hicks in particular, would sell him in a flash if it meant he pocketed the coin.

But Nando wouldn't leave. Not so often you find a superstar so loyal, likeable, sexy (you really shouldn't have got me started)

6 year contract he got. So you were bang on ;)

unless something goes horribly wrong, expect dani alves to sign for barcelona in the coming weeks

Stars are in the Western Conference Finals and are nowhere near bankrupt :) Your club is just shit.

Gillett's Habs had a good year too. Shame about the chokejob against the Flyers.

Hicks is in massive financial trouble. That is not even in doubt.

Should've tried his luck with a small club before he moved onto the big boys.

Everton would have been perfect for him :)

Stuttgart Lining Up Voronin Move

VfB Stuttgart are lining up a move to bring Andriy Voronin back to the Bundesliga from Premier League side Liverpool.

Voronin has had a far from spectacular season at Anfield following his summer free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen. He has failed to cement a regular starting place with Rafa Benitez preferring Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt as his attacking options.

The Ukrainian international has made 19 league appearances mostly as a substitute and scored five times in the process. In his last season at Bayer Leverkusen he played 31 times bagging 10 ten goals.

Stuttgart sporting director Jochen Schneider has reportedly already made contact with the 29 year old’s advisor Andrej Golowasch over a possible move to the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion.

Voronin’s contract with the Reds runs until 2011 but it is understood they are willing to unload the player as they seek to reinforce their squad for next season.

Stuttgart are also not averse to taking the forward on loan if a permanent move cannot be sealed.

The Ukrainian has had previous spells in Germany with Mainz, Cologne and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Not sure what the benefit of a loan deal would be.

Sell him. Hopefully keep Crouchie.

Gravesen, Rochemback, Wessels, Berger all gone from their clubs.

We've been linked to Amara Diane from PSG.

Haven't seen any of him, and his record isn't exactly prolific, but I don't imagine he'd cost much with PSG getting relegated.

Birmingham's on-loan striker Mauro Zarate is in talks with two Premier League clubs. (BBC Sport, 1342)

Hopefully. But I doubt it. Coco's got his phone off.

They're not yet are they?

I looked the other night, they were out of the relegation zone with one match to play.

I missed out 'nearly'.

It had been a while since I'd checked, but you'd be correct. Looking unlikely they'll go down now.

Zarate deal will be done next week according to his agent. My guess at the two clubs would be Liverpool and a team like Man City. I hope its us though. Reel him in Nani

Advocaat: Arshavin Will Leave

Zenit St. Petersburg boss Dick Advocaat has admitted the club are likely to lose Andrei Arshavin, following reports Manchester City have made a ₤10 million bid for the winger…

The 26-year-old put in a man-of-the-match performance at the City of Manchester Stadium last night to spur Zenit to a 2-0 win over Rangers in the UEFA Cup final.

The Russia international has been vital in Zenit’s European run this term, earning strong interest from several clubs, including City’s Premier League rivals Everton.

And Advocaat is resigned to the fact his star attacker will leave this summer, insisting Zenit face a tough task maintaining their squad, let alone improving it.

"That will happen, I have no doubts about that and we will have to start again," said the Dutchman.

"That is the problem if you become successful - such as happened with Skrtel sold to Liverpool. We have to keep those players to become a better team.

"It's not only Arshavin - other players also who are very important for this team - and we need to try to buy three or four others to make the squad better and rotate a little bit.

"Only 12 or 13 players played in almost all the games and that's difficult."
