I'm willing to make a bet that his destination will be England.

Yeh I can see a club like Liverpool going for him too. Lets be honest. Who the ____ knows where hes gonna end up. Most likely a CL club you would predict though

Zarate deal will be done next week according to his agent. My guess at the two clubs would be Liverpool and a team like Man City. I hope its us though. Reel him in Nani

Reported to be Arsenal.

But I think we could very well be in the race.

Before our game at St. Andrews Rafa got asked about him, and he seemed to know a hell of a lot about his football/family.

Bizarre move to Qatar apparantly because he had an exceptionally poor family.

That couldnt be true. Hes got like 5 brothers all of whom are professional footballers and were so before him. I got a feeling the 5 mill per year he was offered to play for Al Sadd had a bit to do with his move. Alot of which went to his agent at the time it seems

Rich owners who's money could go kersplat at any moment?

Last I heard the ex-Thai prime minister was about to have a large portion of his cash unfrozen?

Still up in the air exactly how much money Shinawatra has available, and how much he is willing to spend. He hasn't had his money unfrozen yet, but it is extremely likely that it will be in the next 12 months. In general though, I would say that if we wanted to sign a player we'd have as much chance of any outside of the top 4.

That obviously could change (in either direction over the next year or so).

Yeah forgot about his 3 bros. Only reporting what I hear. Some of which is bound to be wrong.

Still he'd be making an incredible lot more than his brothers ever did/will. And no doubt he'd send plenty home for his family to live in luxury.

I read somewhere it had alot to do with a dodgy agent which Zarate did whatever he was told to do. His agent got a TON of money when Zarate signed for Al Sadd

Dodgy agent sounds about right.

10 million pounds was the official fee, and I doubt Velez would have seen half of that.

Anyway cracking little player. Love him. :thumbsu:

i think its 4 clubs

one of the milan teams

Chelsea or United

i think he'll go to italy.. inter if jose takes the reins.. milan if he doesnt

Gerard Pique is off to Barcelona for 4m euro according to pretty much every Spanish newspaper. The news will be made official after the CL final.

I guess the low price makes up for him being a mercenary. He better be good, cause how stupid do you look when you pay a transfer sum for one of your old youth players who left you for nothing...

Silvestre may get taste of Bordeaux
16 May 2008 | 20:33 - PA Sport

Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre admits he could be tempted by a move to Bordeaux, provided the French club can meet his salary demands.

Les Girondins coach Laurent Blanc has declared his interest in the France international, whose season has been disrupted by knee injuries.

Silvestre's contract at United runs until the summer of 2009, but the former Rennes player is not discounting a return to his native country if the offer is good enough.

"It isn't impossible," the 30-year-old told a press conference.

"Bordeaux is a club which is close to my heart. When I was little, I followed their exploits in Europe. Moreover, I have family in the Gironde region.

"But each player has to be satisfied in a sporting sense as well as financially.

"There are no gifts handed out here. I am not a good Samaritan."

Silvestre, who has also played for Internazionale, missed most of United's latest title-winning campaign with a knee injury he suffered in September.

He returned towards the end of the season but he is unlikely to make France's squad for next month's European Championships in Austria and Switzerland.
