Zoltan Gera to Everton from West Brom on a free is a rumour coming from both sides.

Good bit of business on a free. Looks like he passed his medical. Certainly a better squad option than Gravesen who is back to Celtic.

Phillip Lahm wont be going anywhere this summer.

Lahm signs Bayern deal
17 May 2008 | 13:16 - PA Sport

Germany international Philipp Lahm has ended speculation about his future at Bayern Munich by extending his contract until 2012.

The 24-year-old had been strongly linked with Barcelona and only a few weeks ago, the player rated his own chances of leaving at 50/50.

However, a meeting last week with future Bayern coach Jurgen Klinsmann has convinced him to put pen-to-paper on a new deal and commit himself to the German champions for a further three years.

"I am really looking forward to staying here, otherwise I would not have done it," said Lahm at a press conference.

"My aim is to win the Champions League with FC Bayern and I am convinced we can do it in the near future."

Lahm has been named in Joachim Loew's Germany squad for Euro 2008 and he also earned the recognition of his current coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, who said the new contract was 'the best decision' both the player and the club could take.

"Philipp Lahm has a great future ahead of him," added Hitzfeld at his final press conference as Bayern coach at the club's training ground.

"He is a fantastic player who is already one of the best in the world."

Although Lahm did not go into detail about what had been said in his meetings with Klinsmann and the board last week, he did hint that several big-name signings could be made and that may have convinced him of the club's ambition.

"The team is going to be strengthened even more so that we can play a major role in the Champions League," revealed Lahm.

Sad day for apollo_/Tuck.

Ivan Campo has been released from Bolton.

Gone too are Stelios Giannakopoulos and Andranik Teymourian.

L'OM duo available

Coach Eric Gerets admits Djibril Cisse could leave Marseille this summer if the club receives the right offer from an English club.

Former Liverpool striker Cisse is keen to return to the Barclays Premier League and was linked with a move to Manchester City during the January transfer window.

And he could be followed across the Channel by Samir Nasri, a reported target for Arsenal, if L'OM get a big enough offer.

"If there's a big offer for Samir, he is going to leave," Gerets said.

"If there is an offer from an English club for Cisse which he is happy with, he will do the same.

"I don't want to criticise the club because it is the same everywhere. When there is a big offer that comes in, players leave."

Man United have increased their bid for Ramsay to £10million in an attempt to outbid Liverpool. Part of the condition of the deal is that Ramsay will be loaned back to the bluebirds next season.

Part of the condition of the deal is that Ramsay will be loaned back to the bluebirds next season.

Heard the other day, that you couldn't do that.

Although I guess they can set their purchase date.

And I think it's 5m up front, 5 on other conditions. ____ all really.

I was thinking Baros, one of the reasons why I'm surprised you would want someone like Cisse at Villa.
That's a little harsh.

Baros run to the right hand corner flag move (on every possession) is near impossible to replicate.

Even if you're trying to run to the right hand corner flag, with your head down, nearly tripping over the ball and whatever else - it's impossible to sustain it for 90 minutes.

In any case. Point taken. Lesson learned. Tail between head.

Joaquin to Everton for 11 mill.. good buy? Don't watch any La Liga.

He was THE young right winger in the world a few yrs ago (before Ronaldo broke out), most big clubs were keen to get him. Apparently Madrid, Man Utd, Chelsea have all wanted him at some stage. Surprised Rafa didn't bring him over to Liverpool as part of his Spanish revolution. Will always be a question mark with overseas wingers adapting to the physical nature of the EPL, but if he can cope with that aspect of the league then he should flourish. To be frank i dont see why he would move to Everton.

wow! joaquin is great! surely you jest about him signing?

We've been heavily linked with him. We have been heavily linked with others before, but not as much apart from Yakubu.. who we signed. We're looking to strengthen midfield so it fits.
