yep me too embers:thumbsu: i reckon they will sign another big name striker.. huntelaar, villa... somone of that nature.. sir alex has had a fat over klaas for years:cool:.. diego is another he may have a dabble at.. also a right back is needed.. Rafinha maybe? i don't see Dani Alves signing for anyone other than Real, Chelsea or Barca but you never know... whoever he signs however will definetely star as per usual.. maybe he'll raid portugal again.. Miguel Veloso is a star in the making and United were linked a ridiculous amount of times.. maybe the Nani & Ronaldo factor may draw him over.. who knows
the last thing united need is more midfielders.
Would be surprised if we bought another one in an already stong area.

Rafinha could be a very good option, but i think he may not quite make it in the prem.

Phillip lahm in my opinion would be a perfect buy

I wont be surprised if a bloke like Luis Valencia from Wigan ends up at a top 4 club. He was linked to Man U in The Sun of all papers but he definetly has the ability to step up 5 levels from Wigan. The most impressive thing about Valencia is his performance against top 4 teams. Tore the likes of Clichy and Cole to shreds this year. Hes alot like SWP except he has a left foot and can use it.

Surprised clubs like Newcastle etc havnt been linked with him yet. 1000 times the player Barnes will ever be

It will be interesting to see where young Ramsey ends up, the kid has a bright future and I seriously doubt he will be at Ninian next season. Hopefully if he goes to an EPL club he can get some game time which means I will be able to watch him in action more often.

Every time I've seen him he's been pathetic.

French international Mathieu Flamini's current Arsenal contract is due to expire in the summer, and the combative midfielder has not yet signed a new deal - despite the fact that a reported £50,000 a week offer has been on the table for him for more than a month.

Now the Gunners fear that Flamini may already have given the nod to a pre-contract agreement with Italian side Juventus, who have been courting him for some time. The Arsenal chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, admits that they may reluctantly be forced to part company soon with their defensive midfield star, who made such an impact alongside Cesc Fabregas in the centre of the park for Arsenal this season.

Signs are that Flamini will not be a gunner next season. Disappointing if he leaves after Wenger stuck with him and helped make him into the player he is today.

If you're Brazilian and come with a high price tag, theres a good chance you're going to be linked with City over the next few months.

Ronaldinho is still being talked about, although the only way we'll get him is if the bigger clubs find him too expensive and pull out of the race.

Jo has been linked with us in the past few days, his agent is quoted as saying that he thinks something will happen in terms of an agreement between us and CSKA. I translate that roughly as "he's going somewhere, if you want him now is the time to make yourselves known".

A bit of a left field one, a poster on a City board has claimed that Daniel Carvalho's uncle (called Roberto Carlos) has been in Manchester for the past couple of days, and City officials were called in to sort a visa problem on his departure this morning. There was no suggestion he was there on behalf of Carvalho but makes for an interesting discussion on the City boards anyway.

What is the rumoured pricetag? I saw 18 million around the place the other day, but not sure if that's the most commonly quoted.

Was quite a bit of confusion over this fella in January IIRC.

Was coming out of contract, and was pretty much signed, sealed and delivered to an Italian club (Think it was Inter)

Then ended up doing a last minute U-Turn and stayed at CSKA?

Did he end up signing a new contract there?

It was Atletico Madrid who had him signed, sealed and delivered. They even had him on their website squad page they were that sure it was going through.

Then he stayed in Moscow for some utterly daft reason.

Bayern fail to persuade Lahm to sign new deal

By Kevin Fylan

BERLIN, April 22 (Reuters) - Bayern Munich have withdrawn the offer of a new contract to Philipp Lahm after failing to reach agreement with the Germany defender, who said on Tuesday he was eager to move abroad.
Lahm's existing deal runs out at the end of next season and Bayern said in a statement that talks on an extension had not been successful.

Bayern must now decide whether to sell him at the end of this season or risk losing him on a free transfer in 2009.

Lahm, 24, who scored the first goal of the 2006 World Cup and is a regular for Germany, has been linked with Barcelona in local media reports.
"My plan is to leave Bayern before I'm past my peak," Lahm said in an interview with Stern magazine.

"I played for two years at Stuttgart and I'm in my third year at Bayern, the biggest German club. The logical next step is to go abroad."
Asked if he could leave at the end of this season, Lahm said: "That's quite possible".

Bayern, who won the German Cup on Saturday and have a 10-point lead in the Bundesliga with five matches to play, are already working on plans for next season.

We can put this one to bed. He's been recruited as an advisor for our overseas academies.

Well its going a bit crazy at the moment.
Ibra - Real Madrid
Modric - Newcastle (rumoured to have been checking out the facilities with Zagreb vice-chairman Zdravko Mamic)
Ronaldhino - Spurs, Man City
Jo - Man City (25mil buy out clause)
Hleb - Inter Milan
Flamini - Milan, Juventus
Mahamadou Diarra - Inter Milan

You know what type of players Chelsea and Liverpool will be after.

Chelsea's weakness is obvious.

A creative central midfielder and a Robben replacement (similar qualities) to play on either the right or left.

If Chelsea want Quarsema, they'll get him. Whether they rate him highly enough or not, I don't know.

Villa looks likely to leave. Barcelona have too many strikers at the moment so you'd say he won't be going there. Raul and RVN at Real Madrid, they seem pretty settled?

With Drogba leaving, Chelsea need to sign someone and I'd expect them to spend alot of money in doing that. And Shevchenko's on his way, as is Pizarro.

That leaves,
Anelka
Kalou
Sahar

Targets?

Villa, Kanoute perhaps? He'd be a great signing for them.
Berbatov is obviously another possibility.

And considering they're losing three, they'll need to buy at least two.

Some older, experienced, happy to sit on the bench dude/a quality young player able to impact games off the bench would be their second striker signing.

Liverpool need the same thing. Crouch and Voronin will likely leave and they'll need sometime decent to replace Kuyt in the starting XI.
They'll be after Villa and they've been linked to a host of other names as well.

Much like Chelsea, they need a world class right back. They'll probably both be after the same targets. As with last year when they were both going after Malouda.

expect chelsea to be pretty active i rekon. liverpool will just top off their squad

i'm of the opinion that if rijkaard goes we'll seriously look at him. he can play on the left (has been for porto for ages) and thats an area we need to look at.. i don't know if chelsea will go after him.. mourinho was definetely keen on him but obviously he is not there anymore.. the only english club he'll sign for tho imo..

Villa looks likely to leave. Barcelona have too many strikers at the moment so you'd say he won't be going there. Raul and RVN at Real Madrid, they seem pretty settled?
he is a solid chance to sign for Madrid imo.. they've both been keen on each other for a while but i do think he'll make the transition to england and arsenal may be a real option (although mr.wenger doesn't like spending the big dollars)

i reckon they'll have a crack at benzema.. doubt they'll sign him but they'll have a real crack imo.. Villa will definetely be looked at.. berbatov mmm maybe.. don't think he'll be their first preference tho..

there should be a plethora of them available too.. alves, rafinha, lahm all are likely to move on in the summer.. i reckon rafinha might end up at chelsea

I reckon once the season finishes, we'll post a list of 50 rumoured to be leaving players and play that 'where will they end up?' game again. I think it was won by Snakebite01 last time? or was it one of the Liverpool fans? either way; to save myself time I can start listing some of the players now as they're linked to wherever.

If this is offical which i presume it is as its on a clubs official website then he must be money hungry.... Tottenham or Barcelona? Hmmm

Spurs have announced that they have agreed terms with Dinamo Zagreb for Luka Modric, and have agreed terms with the player.

Where are they getting all this money from?. Jenas isnt that bad of a player. They need a CB LB LW and if Lennon is offski a RW badly. CM is the one spot I thought they had set. I guess this means Jenas will be sold. Good signing if not a bit overpriced for a club like Spurs
