Berbatov will be gone for big money in the summer. Lennon will get a decent return, and the 4p that Paul Robinson is worth will make a difference. £20m+ is the rumoured transfer fee, a lot of money and as you mention not really a priority area for them.

Yeh thats what I was thinking, A big money move like this would have to mean someone is gone or Tottenham are crazy (17 mill for Bent is crazy I spose) and heading towards bankruptcy. That leaves them with 2 strikers on the list though which makes me think they are the ones desperately after Villa. Not sure he would compliment Keane well at all though.

Seems like a dumb signing to me even if he is a very good player

I'm not sure they've got the money to finance the signings they seem to think they'll be making, but if you're going to leave Real Madrid (I'm not even sure why, or even if RVN wants to leave) AC Milan would be high up there on the prestige scale.

They've got a lot of rebuilding to do, but have a couple of capable kids to build around.

Modric is exactly what we need (and a goalkeeper). Obviously the people who dont think so have massively overrated Jenas who doesn't impose himself enough and is prone to disappearing for long periods.

Apparently a deal with Kameni is close. Bring in N,Zogbia, offload Malbranque, keep Berba and we would have done extremely well.

I would have thought Spurs needs would be to find players that will help you concede less, creating scoring opportunities and scoring goals wouldn't be something that they're currently lacking at the moment. A top quality defensive midfielder, right back and centre back would have been bigger priorities if I was looking to build the Spurs squad (ooh, what a distasteful job). Cover on the wings, and replacements for Berbatov and Lennon would obviously be required if they leave.

Talk now that the price was 20m euros, so while I don't think it's a necessary signing at least the price isn't as ott as it originally looked.

Nothing like Defoe or Owen IMO, he's developed into more a playmaker than just a pure finisher like the other two (no comments needed Geordies, I'll see how he goes against some decent teams before I change my assessment on Owen).

We have arguably the best right back in Britain in Hutton. I will give you that we need a quality defensive midfielder and centre back though. I am not banking on King and Woodgate being injury free and Kaboul and Dawson are far too mistake prone.

Pleased with this signing. This is the sort of player you can attract when you have one of Europes most respected managers in charge. I hope this is the start of a £60 million+ outlay this summer, cos that is what it will take to crack the top four (plus keeping Berbs).

We will recoup at least £20 million by clearing out our deadwood to the likes of Citeh, Newcastle and Wet Spam. Keeps everybody happy

Keanes good at what he does but hes getting on and IMO once he loses his pace hes gonna decline rapidly as a player.
