Yes, the fee is good, but Upson - Davenport are far too similar as CB's and we'd got chopped up in defence badly. Neill playing centrally would also be a very bad idea.

I want to keep him because if we sell him we'd HAVE to replace him with another reasonably athletic CB otherwise our defence would go to the shit.

I think you're spot on.

I reckon this might have been the plan all along to sell off Anton, move Neill to CB and have McCartney and Behrami wide. Then use the coin to generate a quality attacking mid. Its all getting rather late now, but as DB10 has just mentioned, the likes of Appiah are still there to be hooked.

Hopefully Anton agrees to move and we can go shopping.

Your team is already top 10 quality (Bellamy needs to be fit though - and injuries need to be less ridiculous) and with the addition of Appiah - just another dimension to the team.

I would only sell Anton if a replacement could be brought in. Hopefully Nani is off trying to find one right now.

Anton's got all of the physical attributes to be as good as his brother. Unfortunately, you'll usually see from him once a game just a blunder or a brain fade that'll cost his team dearly.

Appiah I would be very interested in but for 2 points;

1 - He has a degenerative knee condition according to some reports.
2 - Wages (I imagine he'll want quite a bit).

How did I contradict myself. He is a shadow of his former self. He is slow and old now. But if a chance falls to someone in the box, Fowler would be near the top of my list to finish. Ill take Torres if you need to beat two defenders, outpace someone and finish over a charging keeper. But one shot, one swipe of the leg, one second, one chance. Fowler will still score. He's never lost that.
