It got extended a day due to 31st Aug falling on a Sunday...

Disappointed to lose Corluka, I guess Hughes sees him as expendable as we do have a lot of strength in that position.

Spurs will get a skilful, cultured defender. Sometimes a bit lazy, but should do a good job on the right or in the middle of defence.

Will turn out to be a more important signing for them than Modric for the sole reason that they are (finally) addressing their major weaknesses.

City arguably have the best depth at right-back in the league with Richards, Zabaleta and Onuoha all right-backs (or very capable of playing there) so losing Corluka is hardly a bad thing.

West Ham are building a strong team. I'm really liking the way that they're looking. As well as Manchester City.

Manchester City, West Ham and Villa look the best contenders for 5th spot at the moment. Portsmouth possibly because of their brilliant defence. And Tottenham are obviously around the mark. And who knows with Newcastle either? We haven't really seen them up against another midtable side yet. They've played top four teams twice as well as bottom five team. So I've gone from 3 contenders to 6. And don't forget Everton either. They'll be alright. Make that seven.
