he'd be more than welcome back at barcelona

He would be but he's a traitor and should never get a chance play for the club. That'll serve us best in the long run, I'm sure.

He was a complete tool to leave in the first place anyway. If getting a chance to play more often (and not money) was his real reason, he was an idiot to leave Barcelona for a club where competition for places is at least as hard.

Piqué: I Want To Play Every Week

Manchester United defender Gerard Piqué has revealed that he may have to leave Old Trafford to be guaranteed a starting berth every week. Although his recent run in the first-team has alleviated his immediate short term concerns, the defender has hinted that his future may lie elsewhere.

Sir Alex Ferguson has top-quality cover in every position but his third choice central defender has admitted to being frustrated at having to continually kick his heels on the bench.

Of late, as a result of Nemanja Vidic’s injury, the Catalonian has filled the breach at the heart of United’s resolute defence. “I was a bit upset, but it seems that something has now changed”, he told setantasports.com.

However, his appearances have been extremely limited at Old Trafford, and to date he has played more times for Real Zaragoza (on loan) than he has for his paymasters.

Recently, Piqué has been linked with a return to his native Barcelona but he remains unaware of any concrete offers from the Catalan giants. He said: “I don’t know about Barcelona’s interest. The Spanish Press know more about those stories than me.”

Crucially, the 21 year old’s long term future is not formally set at Old Trafford, with his current deal expiring next summer.

Of his frustrations, Piqué declared: “I don’t know how long I can wait before I play every week,” he said. “This year has been difficult as I want to play more.”

Piqué has insisted that he has made no decision regarding his future, but admitted that he is mulling over his options; “My contract with United ends in 2009, so I have plenty of time to think.”

Id kill every member of our backline to sign this guy. Absolute gun!!!!.

Villa Tells Arsenal To Make Their Move

Spanish international David Villa has made it clear he's ready and willing to leave Valencia for England this summer. Chelsea are said to be interested, but the striker really wants to join Arsenal or, failing that, Liverpool.

The 26-year-old is thought to be high on Chelsea manager Avram Grant's wishlist, with a bid of around €30m being planned and the UK press reporting that an approach by the Blues has already been made.

Villa has hit 63 goals for Valencia over the past three seasons and has been one of the few los Che players to perform consistently this year.

Arsenal Are Terrific

But while he is keen to try his luck in the Premier League, the striker has admitted it's Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal he'd really like to join.

“I watch the Premier League a lot and the team I’m most attracted to is definitely Arsenal," said Villa. "Their brilliant one and two-touch football and the whole style of rapid counter-attack which dominates the top level of the Premier League now is the one which suits my game best of all.

"I think I’m made to succeed in England but of course it’s one thing saying it and quite another getting there and then doing it. The Valencia president always told me he wouldn’t sell me until summer 2008," Villa added. "If an offer comes in I’m hungry to test myself in England.”

Liverpool Ahead Of Chelsea

The striker said that if it were to prove impossible to join Arsenal this summer then his next preference would be Liverpool, where he could link up with international team mate Fernando Torres. “It’s great playing alongside Fernando. We understand each other totally and we get on brilliantly off the park.”

Do a google search on that Swedish club v the Pig and Whistle clip and he might think differently.

Oops, I just watched it. It was the Pig and Whistle clip. :o

Oh the shame. ;)

I hope all Arsenal fans just creamed their pants.

Clearly the best striker in the world finally comes to England. Isnt it going to be exciting next season :)

Torres, Rooney, Totti....

They're all strikers, yes?

All top class even though Torres is an overrated minnow basher (A tad harsh, maybe :)). Villa's on his own level and when he comes to England it'll be on full display how much better he is than Rooney and Torres (Torres especially)

Torres, Rooney, Totti....

Even in a truly sucktastic Valencia team Villa has more goals this season than Rooney does.

Ronaldo is a bloody better striker than Rooney is. :p

Torres a minnow basher?

Slighty tongue in cheek

villa is a star.. had a shit year tho.. has the potential to be a bigger success in england than torres

He's been injured. Add to the fact how shithouse Valencia have been this year and I would say he's performances have been far from shit. (11 goals in 20 league appearances)

Agree though that he's potential is far greater than Torres. He's also older.

:D

lets not turn this into a torres bashing thread tho.. he's been immense this season and at the moment in my eyes is a better player than villa until david recaptures the old form.. villa will get 2 chances for valencia a game and will at least take one.. i'd hate to see how good he'll be at arsenal, liverpool etc. getting chance after chance..

I can seriously see him leaving... He has the ability to be starting centre back at prob any other club other then the others of the top 4 and i reckon he would push at Arsenal and Liverpool.

There is no way Pique would get a look in at Liverpool. Agger, Skrtel, Carra and even Hyypia would be in front of him.

Minnow basher... hahahah

Torres is better than Villa and miles better than Rooney. Shrek has like 10 league goals this season. Torres would be in the top 2 or 3 strikers on the planet.

Which funnily enough, is the amount we offered for him in January.

I don't think he's worth 6m either, but he's English, and has enormous potential, so I wouldn't be too disappointed if we did sign him for that price.

It's not like Mike Ashley doesn't have the money, as is evidenced by pretty him pretty much going to double Obafemi Martins' current wage.

Barnes had a knee reconstruction. I hope like hell we dont touch him with a ten foot pole. Doubt we will. I got a feeling we will be selling like crazy at the beginning of the window before bringing 3-4 players in. We have got one of the largest squads in the league and we still cant field a ____ing team most of the time but the times come to sell.

Im most interested to see what Man United do. Another 50 mill spent and they are gonna be unstoppable.

yep me too embers:thumbsu: i reckon they will sign another big name striker.. huntelaar, villa... somone of that nature.. sir alex has had a fat over klaas for years:cool:.. diego is another he may have a dabble at.. also a right back is needed.. Rafinha maybe? i don't see Dani Alves signing for anyone other than Real, Chelsea or Barca but you never know... whoever he signs however will definetely star as per usual.. maybe he'll raid portugal again.. Miguel Veloso is a star in the making and United were linked a ridiculous amount of times.. maybe the Nani & Ronaldo factor may draw him over.. who knows

hence why youngsaint said "other than the other clubs in the top 4".. unless you don't count liverpool in the top 4 Jod?;)
