Spurs being linked with Veloso today. Don't know a lot about him.

Helb has been good but he has scored as many goals than Gallas and not that many assists. Scoring 4 goals is not good enough when you have spent a lot of the season playing in the whole behind the striker.

Scholes isn't hanging up the boots but when fit and playing he's been quite average.

The Barca goal was great, his form however.... has not been.

Is it 'form' as such or is it a case of him playing to his ever reducing ability?

there central mid stocks aren't really that strong imo... Anderson is fantastic but hasn't got much defensive ability, carrick is average, i prefer Hargreaves as a fullback and Scholes is getting on.. Veloso would definetely be a bench player next season but i reckon it'd be a good move.. he is a rare type of player.. plays as a defensive mid but gives plenty going foward.

That's exactly why they struggle to keep possession against some of the better teams.

Rooney, Ronaldo and the complimenting qualities of their central midfielders make them strong.

But they aren't exactly the best of the best. Not the quality of players you'd expect for one of the richest and best clubs in the world.

They do compliment one another well though and their blended range of passing allows the likes of Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo to thrive.

Crouch would surely be one of those DC. Now, what would you think about Barry coming in? You already have "Mash" and Alonso in his spot as well as Gerrard... he'd surely be out of place in your team.

This is why i can't understand Liverpool's rationale in getting Gareth Barry as good a player as he is... there are 3 world class central midfielders already in the team.

David Bentley on the other hand would be a fantastic signing as we're not exactly blessed with great wingers on either the left or right hand side.

David Bentley is the most overrated footballer on the planet at the moment.

Technically competent (like Barry) but certainly not the type of wide player Liverpool should be looking at.

I'd like to see Maynard play at a higher level. I work with a few Alex ST holders, and they reckon he is good enough to play in the prem. Been injured for all but the last few months of the season, I think he's still managed close to 10 goals.

Seems to be that over the past few years that City, Newcastle, Spurs, West Ham and to a lesser extent Villa are all sharing their scouting reports.
